Hi all~

I feel a little silly posting this, since with only two dozen posts under my name of "AprilRain", almost nobody knows me. But I needed to get a new nickname, and not identifying myself or representing myself as new felt a little sneaky. I'd rather be silly than sneaky, so please excuse the post.

By way of re-introduction, I live in Southeast Michigan with my hubby of nearly 15 years and four precious kitties. I have never lived on a farm, but I live surrounded by them, and am so grateful for the beautiful country around me. I work outside of the home full-time (four long days), but deeply appreciate the domestic arts and the value of an organic and sustainable lifestyle. (Every MJF magazine I read, my head just bobs up and down in agreement with the information and tips presented LOL!) I've grown lots of flowers and a few herbs forever, and hope to have a successful go at a few veggies this summer. Some lovely ladies give me brilliant suggestions for that in the gardening section (under my old ID.)

I am also a newish quilter and sewer, bead a little bling here and there, play the piano, and love to read and watch old movies with my husband. The next activity on my radar is learning to crochet. So many activities... only two hands LOL!

I'd love to hear a shoutout from other Michiganians; I know you're out there! I don't believe there is a chapter in this part of the state at the moment. Hopefully soon... :)

Ah, I know roughly where you live... a darned pretty area, I say.

I lived as a child in Charlevoix County, and still visit every chance I get. I have good friends in the area, and also in Gaylord. I love the northern Lower Peninsula. :)

Thank you for the welcome, Beverley!

*blushing* I would swear there weren't that many when I checked a while back LOL! Now I feel silly again. I should've looked again before I spoke. ;)

Two are within 35 minutes, so that's not bad.

Thank you, Rene. :)
