Posted - Mar 02 2009 : 8:20:47 PM I've been busy on so many chats in different forums. I just love learning and chatting with everyone. There are a lot of things I'm learning. This is way better than taking college courses again. I think I may have converted another soul into our Klamath Falls chapter. I am doing many different things again and hope to continue meeting new friends. Welcome to all the newbies, you are so gonna love this site. Thank you Maryjane!

Posted - Feb 22 2009 : 3:47:31 PM I must have got the bug for sewing. Started on some yo yos today. I really love the pillow of them in MJ's book. I may have to try making one. I finished my grocery bag for the exchange and would like to get started on an apron. Today its raining outside so its a good day to stay in and sew or read more in my MJ books. I am so ready for spring to get here but I know we will still get snow again. I just keep drooling over all the gardening I want to do again this year. Still have the new chick coop to build, fencing to put up. Ohhhh the life of a country gal. LOVE IT........

Posted - Feb 19 2009 : 7:22:52 PM Started my day this morning putting my starter together for baking. Unfortunately, I think I was still half asleep as I read the wrong amount for the salt. It looks real pretty and my hubby likes it, but I'm not a salt person so better try again. Started to sew my exchange bag and having problems with my treadle. Start again tomorrow. I'd show you pics of my bread, but have'nt figured out how to apply them to this site. Gail My blog site (still needs refining) is http://grammasladybug.blogspot.com/ |

Posted - Feb 18 2009 : 6:50:42 PM Tomorrow I will bake my first MJ bread from a starter I received from Cheryl. Will let you know how it turns out as I only found organic wheat flour at the time. I've been reading up on the farm kitchen site to get better aquainted with what to look for and what to do. Looks like anything is possible. We shall just keep baking.

Posted - Feb 17 2009 : 1:14:37 PM Well after cutting some kindling and stacking a wood pile on the porch for the week i think its time for another cup of hot tea. I did get my treadle sewing machine ready for my grocery bag swap. It has been many years since I've sewn but I'm confident it will all come back to me. The sun is shining with snow on the ground. Looks real pretty. But before that cup of tea, I must go and check my mail to see if my Sister badge has arrived. I recieved my bumper sticker and certificate at our last chapter meeting. Still hoping more farm ladies will join us.
Wish me luck! Gail |

Posted - Feb 15 2009 : 8:23:59 PM Today my husband and I left home early to go out snowmobiling. I would have rather stayed in bed and slept. We drove hour and half, started snowing. Got two trucks and trailers stuck. Had several people to be pulled out of deep snow and one who totaled his sled. Guess next time I'll listen to the little voice in my head. Tomorrow I meet with Cheryl and we are hoping to recruit some more farmgirls to our chapter. Wish us luck.

Posted - Feb 14 2009 : 7:40:43 PM Well I have been busy buying material in hopes that I will actually get sewing again. It had been my passion for years, that and gardening. I can't say I have much of a green thumb anymore as it is real hard to garden here with such short seasons. My granddaughter is putting a blog together for me and will teach me how to use it. So when its up and going I will share it with you all.

Posted - Feb 13 2009 : 07:17:28 AM Well I think our winter has finally gotten here. Looks like are snow is gonna stick. And yes ladies I am the other half of the kfalls Charming Chicks. We really do hope to get this going with lots more ladies. Will be a lot of fun to do different things together. When you live so far apart as a farm girl, it really is nice to meet someone like yourself (or not) that you can occassionally get with. So Monday we are off to who knows what we will get into. For sure lots of thrifting. I'm really looking forward to going to the July BBB in Coeur d'Alene. So glad I met Cheryl, this is so up my alley. Gail |
