I fresh to MJ's Farm but I was a farmgirl before farmgirls were cool. I'm pushing 50 and have a nine-year-old son, Rocky. I love nothing better than to hang out my vintage white linens on a hot summer day & watch them flap in the breeze. I'm best when I'm in a white linen nightgown, barefoot & wearing an apron. Give me open windows & chickens in the back yard. I prefer porches over decks; rainy day~jammie days and only have a computer so I can make a living while wearing my jammies. My goal is to find a fixer-upper canned ham trailer & fiz it up with pink roses for Glamping trips.
P.S. My farmgirl life love is second only to my love of Wizard of Oz. So let me take these barefeet to the yellow brick road...I'll have to carry my ruby slippers in my apron pocket!

That, my dear Julie, is PRICELESS!!!!! All I can picture in my mind is this massive creature, aptly name Elvis, with lacey frills hanging from his horns!

A big Louisiana welcome, Suzi. I love my vintage linens, too, and look forward to spring when I can hang them out on the line, too! My only problem is Elvis, my 2200 lb. bull who loves fresh laundry!!!!

Hello my friend, Kim, yup it's time to start a chapter! I chatted with Gena from Harmony, too. Her husband comes to the Threshers Reunion, Maybe we need to make a "Shout Out" to anone that attends & have a get together!

Well hello there Suzi. Glad to see you here. I have not visited in a while due to college days but right now I am on a break. I knew that you would come here, after all you keep borrowing "my" books...ha ha. I have enjoyed myself chatting with other farm girls and look forward to watching for you. About that chapter, looks like we are going to have to start soon because I have received an email from someone around New London and now one from Harmony. I will work on getting some invations out and see if we can all get together. Have fun and keep in touch.

I have not been to the Kernersville flea market, yet. I used to love to go to flea markets & yard sales but I have not done that in the past few years, I need to start back as I am selling on eBay now & I can find some neat items to sell (like I need anything more, I have TONS of stuff!)
We do have animals, although I would love to add to my "family". Right now we have three indoor cats, two indoor/outdoor cats; three rabbits (pets), & 1/2 a dog (I'll explain later) I really want a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel & I would love to raise Alpacas.
Now about that 1/2 a dog...my husband, our son & I live on five acres (in town but on the edge) but our son & I live in one house & my husband in the other house. Three years ago when we could no longer live together, he moved into our rent house & that cured most of our problems. We still fuss occasionally but I just tell him to go home & get over it. Unique but it works.
I am also a quilter & active in the Randolph Quilters Guild in Asheboro. We will have our annual quilt show in November if you are interested.

Suzi, I would love to get together. Do you ever go to the Farmers Market off I-40 near Kernersville? I love to go there. Do you have any animals?
My husband just lost his job at Freightliner, so he has plenty of TIME now to get my clothesline!

I saw a post from you earlier Gena & was excited that there are some farmgirls near here! I'm hoping that we can get together a chapter here too! Keep in touch & if you come with your husband to the Thresher's Reunion, you can drop by or we'll get together there.
As far as the clothes line goes, for three years when I was asked what I wanted for birthday & mother's day...My only request was "a clothesline" One year he said"You always say that, but what do you REALLY want" At which point he got "the look" and I got my clothesline. I love it!

Hey Suzi, I am in NC also. Maybe we could start a chapter. I live in Davie County. DO you know where that is? I know all about Denton. My husbands family ALWAYS goes to the 4th of July tractor thingy. I can't think of the name! I am in my early 50's too. My husband has been getting me a clothesline for 3 years now. You know how it goes LOL!

Welcome Suzi!

I sure am hoping to get a clothesline this year so I too can watch my vintage linens flapping in the breeze :)

Sounds like you found home here :)
