Posted - Apr 15 2009 : 10:28:10 AM Hello Everyone, Just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Joanna and I live in Clarksville, NH, also known as the Great North Woods! Glad to have found all of you.
We purchased our new home almost 3 years ago and have slowly been working on home improvements as time and money allow. Last year we added my "Girls" (10 Rhode Island Reds) a dream come true!! This year we will finally have my large garden.
Here is a link to my slide show to give you a glimpse of our world: [http://s34.photobucket.com/albums/d103/JojoNH/Farm%20Girl/?albumview=slideshow]
I am starting my blog and as soon as I get it all figured out, I will add updates with pictures so you can follow along with my journey.
Looking forward to meeting all of you!! Hugs, Joanna aka: JojoNH

Posted - Apr 17 2009 : 11:16:00 AM Thank you Everyone! Be sure to check in on my blog, I will continue to write about the adventures we are having here on "our farm" including pictures!
Right now I have a flock of wild turkeys outside my window, they are eating the scratch that we put out for them. There are 6 hens and one Tom. They have taken up roosting in a group of trees behind our woodpile. Makes me so happy to see them.

Posted - Apr 15 2009 : 11:52:01 AM Thank you for the warm welcome!! It is so wonderful to meet all of you. I have felt like a stranger in a foreign land. Most of my girlfriends think I am crazy. . LOL!!! They still buzz about my "homemade crackers" which I made for them over a year ago!! They said to me, and I quote: " I did not know you could make crackers from scratch!! Where did you get the recipe??" ROFLOL...
I promise to post when I can, offer whatever assistance I can, keep you up to date on how my farm is progressing including pictures and above all else, hold all of you close to my heart! After all, there is nothing better than a Sister Farm Girl!! Hugs! Joanna

Posted - Apr 15 2009 : 11:31:32 AM Hey Jojo in New Hampshire! I lived in the foothills of the White Mountains of NH for 12 years, and loved seeing your slide show. Your home and surroundings are magical. I lived closer to southern NH, so I didn't see moose very often, but I enjoyed having beavers, otters, and deer as regular friends on our wooded property. Ahhhh, the joy of heating with wood...they say it heats you 5 times, right? You have a dandy chicken house....makes you just want to snuggle into one of those nesting boxes! Welcome to the forum!
