Hello Ladies
Im so glad I have found this magazine and this website. I have always wanted to live in the country on a farm with animals and open space for my kids to roam. Well I got 2 1/2 acres in a rural county and 3 kids and 3 dogs, a cat and 3 beehives....so Im on my way. I need some advice and inspiration from other women. I work a fulltime job outside the home and have very little time to garden or make the things I want. How do you find time to squeese things into your dailey life...or should I say make the transition....because I really want to garden and cook more from scratch and sew...stuff like that. Thanks for listening to me ramble and if your in NC I hope to see you at the farmers market :)

Hi Eva,
I know where Richlands is. My husband is from down east...near Maple Hill...he and his father have a cabin in the woods for hunting. We are going to Wilmington next weekend without any kids YEAH...
Someone else recommended that book too so I will definitly check it out. I cant wait to get started with the garden...I know Im a little late for summer veggies but maybe I can put in some for fall.

Hello! I am new to the site and live in North Carolina, as well. I am in Richlands, which is next to Jacksonville. We are about an hour from Wilmington... In response to the dream of a garden, I want to suggest a book called "All New Square Foot Gardening" by Mel Bartholomew. It has really helped me to feel confident and comfortable with growing my own food. It only took me a weekend to get going and I have beautiful herbs and vegitables and fruits blooming!

Happy Day
Eva

Yes Melissa, Kernersville is just on the other side of Greensboro toward Winston-Salem. Maybe you and Pam could hitch a ride together

Hi Melissa, You will love it here. I am also from NC. I am not sure where Louisburg is. What is it close to? Which Farmers Market do you go to? I belong to "The Simple Life", and our next outting is in June to the Farmers Market near Kernersville. I hope that is the one you go to.
