Hello! I am originally a Washington girl, but for the next while we are in Maryland on the Eastern Shore. It is actually quite "agricultural" here and we are renting a farmhouse and are surrounded by farms. I miss my cows SO much, though!

Anyone else from Maryland or SE PA or anywhere nearby? I am looking for some friends or penpals or anything to keep me from getting too lonely while my husband is away at work and I am alone at home with my dogs and cats and thoughts. :)

Welcome to the site, if you ever get bored feel free to e-mail, i get bored easily. As living on a farm and having a great farm bf, i do tend to get bored every now and again. I see you like doggies, I only have one thus far, he's my little buddy. Well i guess he's not all too little anymore, he's a full blooded great dane named brutus. He's just over a year old now. Enjoy the site!

Thanks for writing everyone. I am sorry I didn't post sooner. Whew, time flies by in the summer time. All my canning and freezing is almost done and I'll be starting a new job at an artisan cheese shop making cheese soon. :)

Hi! I'm from Chester County PA and am always up for a chat. My husband travels quite a bit so I know how that goes. My little ones are 6,4,3 tomorrow and 18 months. I'm always up for a good visit!

Hello, welcome to the shore! I live in Berlin, down by ocean city and have just joined farmgirl. I'd be happy to talk to you. We have 2 horses, dogs, cats and chickens, and a small veggie patch right now.

Welcome Michelle! It sounds like you have a very busy life :) I see you raise Akitas. My parents used to have a male named Judge they loved so much. My mom still cries when she talks about him, bless her heart. You're going to enjoy this forum very much. It's full of wonderfully talented women who have a wealth of knowledge to share. Enjoy!

Welcome, Michelle! Registered Jerseys, huh? I would LOVE to have a Jersey! We raise polled Herefords and Black Angus right now, but I'm saving my money for a milk cow. My first choice is a Jersey, my second a Brown Swiss. I bet you do miss your cows. I don't know what I'd do without mine, even when they get ornery! As far as penpals, email me with your address, and I'll be happy to write to you. Check out the Lost Art of Letter Writing -- or the other Penpal post. There are a lot of farm girls that would welcome you to their snail mail circle!!!!!
