Posted - Jul 03 2009 : 4:22:42 PM Hello Ladies,
I'm so happy to have found this site! Although I am brand new to the forum, I've been a farmgirl in my heart for many, many years. Originally a Jersey girl, DH and I moved to North Carolina two years ago when my son-in-law got a job transfer. Our only grandchildren in North Carolina? You know we were here in a heartbeat! We totally love it here, we have a small house on a small lot, but it's big enough to grow the usual kitchen garden vegetables and herbs.
Hope to get to know you all! |

Posted - Jul 10 2009 : 4:21:58 PM DH and I grew up in East Brunswick, Middlesex County. Actually on the edge of the town, right next to Rutgers University in New Brunswick. We've also lived in South River and Spotswood, both towns adjoining East Brunswick. NJ is great, but our grandchildren are HERE now, so are we! |

Posted - Jul 10 2009 : 08:58:00 AM Marjorie--Whereabouts were you in Jersey? :) I am here now. Grew up here mostly, but spent the last 6 years in Florida and then headed back home.

Posted - Jul 10 2009 : 08:07:45 AM Well, Hello!! -- I'm over on the shore of the Albemarle Sound, just outside of Hertford N.C. - My husband is a truck driver, and has made lots of trips over to where you are. When I rode in his other tractor trailer, we had to go thru Raleigh a lot. Didn't like the traffic, but the scenery was great!!
Think you'll have fun with the rest of us!! Welcome!!

Posted - Jul 10 2009 : 07:33:57 AM Again, thanks ladies for the gracious welcome! I've been enjoying reading the forums.
Melissa, I know where Louisburg is. We just love North Carolina. After many years in New Jersey and other places in the Northeast, I feel a great sense of home here. |

Posted - Jul 04 2009 : 1:16:52 PM I live between Winston-Salem and Statesville. One of our members lives in Apex. Two of them live in Denton, and I am not quite sure where the others live. We try to meet somewhere that we all drive the same distance. Our henhouse is "The Simple Life" Kim, is our go-to person, and Pam is the one closest to you. We have been to the NC Zoo and the Farmers Market so far. I am not sure where we will meet next month. I have been out of touch somewhat due to some major surgery a couple of weeks ago. Hope you will be able to join us!

Posted - Jul 04 2009 : 07:45:57 AM Thanks for the welcome! I know I'll enjoy my time here! Happy 4th of July to everyone.
Gena - Holly Springs is near Raleigh, right in between Apex and Fuquay-Varina - Wake County. We couldn't be happier with our choice to buy here. My grandchildren live 5 minutes away in Fuquay-Varina.
How far away is Harmony? I'd love to join a Farmgirl chapter! |

Posted - Jul 04 2009 : 07:27:02 AM Hi Marjorie, I live in NC also. I have lived here my whole life, so I guess I am alittle partial. I think you will love it here on the forum. What is Holly Springs close to? We have a Farmgirl chapter that we would love for you to join, if it is close enough for you. Either way WELCOME!!!!!!!!!!
