I am a twenty-three year old soon to be mom (in October) of a beautiful little girl. I'm married to my best friend and we live on a small farm with plenty of livestock, a nice garden, and I planted an orchard this spring. I run my own business, The Gallivanting Girl, from home where I sell my artwork and auction finds. I love to travel the backroads and find forgotten places. My other interests are photography, painting, reading, and history. I'm going to learn to can this fall, and I'd love to be self-sufficient someday as far as food goes. I also have big dreams of becoming a writer. I have two associate degrees (but plan on going back again someday). One in Agribusiness and the other in Fine Arts--Studio Concentration. I am a chapter leader of a Farmgirl Chapter (which I'm trying to stir up interest for at the moment), so if you're around Worthington and need a reason to chat, make friends, and eat--join The Gallivanting Girls Chapter!!

Hi Julia!! I am just over in Carlisle, in Sullivan County, so I think you are the closest Farmgirl to me! Congratulations on your pregnancy, I am sure you are getting anxious to meet your little girl. I am 29 and have a two-year old boy and a 6 month old boy. Sounds like we have a lot of similar interests, so it will be fun getting to know you more! Have a great week and welcome!

Hi Julia, it's warms my heart to see young women interested in what I refer to as the "rural lifestyle". I'd like to encourage you that even if you have some bloopers in your first canning endeavors, to keep trying because it's so rewarding. You will really like this site as all the "girls" are just great!

Welcome

Cindy
