Posted - Jul 30 2009 : 08:56:10 AM Hello new friends! My DH and I live on 34 acres in the foothills of the coastal mountains west of Roseburg. I grew up here, we bought the property from my parents when they moved to town 14 years ago we started building a new house a year ago and today I am waiting for the plumbing inspector so I won't be able to chat for long but I was so excited when I got my confirmation I couldn't wait to say Howdy; so Howdy!

Posted - Aug 05 2009 : 9:18:12 PM Thanks, Sherrie & Marly, this is a very wonderful place and I enjoy reading as many posts as I can; so much valuable really important and helpful information. And tons of fun stuff too! It's become a very good and positive "addiction" already. It's almost gooder'n chocolate, a close second.

Posted - Aug 05 2009 : 07:02:03 AM Hi Karen, I've always thought that Georgia must be a lovely place, my husband's maternal grandma was a sweet Georgia peach and the memories she shared always made me want to go see for myself. Maryjane, it is an amazing wonder that I get to live on the same farm I grew up on. My parents bought this place, it was actually 38 acres, back in the mid 50's; moved here from Arizona when I was only 3 years old. After 35 years here they needed to move to town and one of the neighbors planned on buying it but when it came down to the wire that deal fell through so they asked me if we were interested at all because we had been looking at other places so the price and deal all fell together. God is SO good! A few years ago we split off 4 acres with the big house; the property had 2 houses so I went from a big old farm house to a little cottage but we knew then that we would use the money to build up on our hill and now we are and we HOPE to move in before winter. I love it out here, it's a 20 minute drive into town where we both work but it's a lovely drive and gives some "wind down" time after work. I so look forward to getting to know everyone here, you are all such gracious and kind women.

Posted - Aug 03 2009 : 07:50:41 AM Thank you Claudia, Lillian, Carol & Rene; I am so glad to be part of this sisterhood. I just got back last night from a wonderful, fun weekend with my two adult daughters. One lives in Seattle and the other in Bend, OR so we met up in Hood River, stayed at a gorgeous little B & B and had a great time. It was hot but since Hood River is in the Columbia Gorge at least the wind was blowing so it wasn't too bad. We visited a lavender farm, did a little hiking, ate well and just had tons of fun.
