Posted - Jul 30 2009 : 11:05:09 AM Hello, I am new here and just want to see if there are any other farmgirls around me. I live in Sterling Kansas. We are inheriting land from my DH's family. It has been in the family for 100 years. We live by Peace Creek and have lots of chickens and horses on our farm. I loveeeee my garden and work at keeping the weeds out. This year we started doing Farmer's Market. We love it. It is hard work, but the rewards are wonderful. The people are the best! I have a blog and would love for you to come over and feel welcome. Please contact me. I have felt so welcome here, all you ladies are to neat!! I do have a free giveaway on my blog that ends on Aug. 16th you are welcome to come and join in on the fun. Blessings, Linda Prairie Flower www.prairieflowerfarm.blogspot.com

Posted - Jul 30 2009 : 11:14:11 AM I don't know where Sterling, is, Linda, but Welcome!!! We also inherited land, my nanny's farm near Kiowa, Kansas, but my father turned it down. He had NO interest in living in Kansas in the 1970's :) I still wonder how my life would be different. Sure loved going out there and watching the storms come in, running around with her Border Collies and sitting on that wide veranda of that lovely old, white farmhouse.
Good for you and the farmer's market! That's so much fun! Enjoy your time on the forum!
