Posted - Aug 13 2009 : 4:02:18 PM I live in Salem, Idaho on a 12 acre "farm". I am originally from Rhodesia, Africa (now Zimbabwe). I am an herbalist/artist/farmer. Our farms were confiscated in Africa and I am grateful to own land in this beautiful country, and except for an ornery neighbour, live in peace.
I have 9 children and two beautiful grandsons. My eldest son is a Marine and have 5 other sons, the other three are daughters, two married.
I remarried two years ago, to the man of my dreams, and have two beautiful grown stepchildren and four step-grandchildren and another on the way.
We have horses, sheep, pigs, poultry, dogs, cats, cows and a donkey named "Norman".
We live in a one room cabin, on the North Fork and I am grateful to be living my dream!

Posted - Aug 24 2009 : 10:59:19 PM Wow! What a great story. Sad that you lost your farm in Africa, but you sound so very happy with the one you have now. You're so close to the Tetons over there. I so love that range. So glad you joined us here and I look forward to getting to know you better.

Posted - Aug 13 2009 : 11:10:27 PM I have three Yorkshires. No sow, we raise three a year for the freezer. I buy the weaners from a local farmer. By the way, I love it already.

Posted - Aug 13 2009 : 8:10:42 PM Thank you for your kind welcomes. About the goats, been there and done that, and I loved them too. I was just at the county fair with my younger boys and overheard one say to the other, while watching a bunch of Nigerian dwarfs "If a fence doesn't hold water, it won't hold a goat"...lol
