I just joined today after my mom (KathyC) told me how much fun you girls are. Mom didn't post a message here when she joined because she's 'shy', so I decided to out her.

We live in the Piedmont of North Carolina. I live on a QH farm about 45 minutes from Charlotte and she lives in the city. Between us we have 3 horses - A Mustang Pony, a TWH, and a 5 Gaited ASB, 2 dogs - A Swiss Mountain Dog and a Plott Hound/Boxer (who's up for adoption to a farm home, please take this dog before I murder him for chewing my house up!), and 14 cats - Ranging in age from 22 to 4 months, Siamese, Tonkinese, DSH, DLH, and a Maine CoonX... I do cat rescue and mom only has 1 of the 14... She's the smarter one of us sometimes.

I grew up riding horses, Dressage and Hunter/Jumper, did a stint as a Saddlehorse groom... I now clicker train and train trail and gaited horses for fun... IRL we're both insurance agents and have a family business.

Look forward to posting here... Guess I'll have to behave myself since mom is on here too!

The Outer Banks are very pretty. I am not far from Ocracoke Island as far as the crow flies. It is a great place to vacation.

Welcome Dixie4sure
I'm sure you will feel right at home here. Its nice to see others from North Carolina. I had to look on a map to see what part of the state Belhaven is in and I must say that the Outer Banks are beautiful - one of my favorite places to visit.
Enjoy

Thanks for the welcome guys!

I've reduced down to 4 cats and 1 dog right now (thank you for my sanity back! My house is only 600 sq ft...).

I love your blog Hosanna, do you know of anyone looking for a BTDT grandma safe TWH? Mom is selling hers and he's a great boy. Not appreciated much by me, too perfect. I like me hot, quirky ASB and my mustang is my heart horse by far (she's perfect too, when she gets her way ;) )

Hi Stephanie! You're from the Piedmont of NC?! Woot, woot! I'm from NC, too. Right now I am stuck just over the border in Virginia. I got married last year and moved here with my husband on his farm. My brother lives in Charlotte; but wants to move back up here. (We live near Danville, VA)
Our horse farm in in NC, though. I grew up riding hunter/jumper, and now I teach it. We have 8 horses, (four OTTTBs) a dog, three cats, and a bunch of chickens. Check out my horse blog by clicking "the wind of heaven" link below.
Glad to have you on the forum. Yay for more NC girls!
