I picked up a copy of MJ's magazine last year at Tractor Supply and fell completely in love! I am just now getting around to joining the Farmgirl Connection, though.

I live in a smallish city (population 40,000) in North Carolina, where my family is attempting to "homestead" by growing and preserving much of our food and raising chickens on our 1/3 acre. I have three children, ages 6, 14, and 17 - all of whom are homeschooled. I work part-time and DH works full-time.

I'm very excited about the possibility of making some like-minded farmgirl friends, as farmgirls are in short supply in my city!

Hi Barb,
In my heart, I believe there are many many farmgirls than we'll ever know! I have been farmgirl at heart all my life and I think truly only about four people in my life knows that. It isn't a big secret or anything like that.. Just those four seem to really "know" me and my heart.
Nice to meet you!

Hi Barb! I'm KathyC's daughter and live in Cherryville, NC (for now, hoping to move somewhere with snow, the northern lights, and an adventure for a year).

This seems like a great place, I love the people here!

Hey Barb,
WELCOME! I'm not too far from you, Gastonia just the other side of Charlotte. I haven't been here very long but really enjoy all the ladies here, they are so inspiring to get me going again. We also homeschooled our daughter from kindergarten on. This was back in the 80's when there were not so many people doing it.

Tracy,

I'm sure there probably ARE farmgirls here in NASCAR country.... sadly, I just don't know any personally. Maybe I run in the wrong circles, lol.

Welcome Barb from a fellow Tarheel. No farmgirls in race country? I found MJ's a couple of years ago and am so glad.

Hi Barb,
Welcome to MJF forum. This is the best place to be if you are a closet farmgirl like me.
I found my place when I started reading her magazine. It was like coming home to were I belonged.

I am positive you will find plenty of farmgirls in your neck of the woods.
Welcome and enjoy !!
