Hi there. I'm Sarah and had become a member in '08, but life happened and I found myself with less time to putz around the net. I still am running on all 8 these days but really missed virtually hanging out with like minds.

I grew up on a grain farm, following gravity wagons and taking supper out to the field with my Ma. After a brief stint in a couple of cities, dh and I bought a piece of land back home, that my Dad had actually owned 35 years prior - funny how that stuff works. Anyway, we (Dh, Riley-G14, Mason-G13, and Taite-B4) built a geodesic dome in the middle of 80 acres. We have one lonely goat (there were many more that spent their final days happy here. They were rescues who were pretty old when they came to us), 15 hens, 4 roos, a bunch of barn cats and 2 sweet heeler/beagle mixes. We garden organically, preserve, cook from scratch, recycle, upcycle and generally try to be conscientious toward mother earth. I picked up sewing in 4-h, but really dove in after my Ma died, leaving me her stash and machines. Quilting is piquing my interest right now but there just aren't enough hours in the day it seems. Currently I'm attending the final class before earning a BS in sociology, so as soon as that wraps in mid December hopefully there will be more mama hours in the day, lol.

It is nice to be back and I look forward to chatting with you all :>D

Hi Sarah! I lived in S. Haven for the first 5 years of my life and my parents still own a house there where we've vacationed every summer since then. My parents are now retired and will be moving there full time. It is a beautiful place!
Do you happen to grow blueberries too? :)

Welcome back, Sarah! Life does happen and fast, too. I have been here just over a year and love it. I have goats and chickens and cows, too. Plus the dogs and cats all over the place. My DD finishes her classes in Dec, too.
