Hello everyone! I'm new to the sisterhood and look forward to learning from you all! Right now I live in S. central Ohio in Hillsboro. Just moved here with the hubby from Lexington, KY and we are renting and saving for a patch of land in the hills here. We both can't wait to start living our dream. My husband is a professor and I work at home as a technical writer but we want to gradually build up a hobby farm of our own. We dream of having a few goats, a few chickens and a big garden with some little ones running around in the corn stalks. I'm so excited to have found Maryjanes Farm at the library and now to find this chatroom!

Welcome Emily! I'm from Waco, Kentucky just south of Lexington. Hillsboro, Ohio is a nice area I think. It's very nice to meet you here.

Sarah, my dad is in SH now working on the house where they'll retire; it's located on one of the Fire Lane's off of Doctor's Row. (does that lingo ring a bell?) My dad bought the property 25 yrs ago before SH became Chicagoland's little playground (or, when land was still cheap!) We avoid going to town in teh summer too. except for Sherman's ice cream. We brave the tourists for that. :)
thanks for the replies everyone! I look forward to chatting with you all!

Hi Emily. I just read your response on my hello thread. Small, small world. SH has many good qualities, though we don't go to town much in the summer ;) Cool that your parents will be here, maybe we can get together sometime. Look forward to getting to know you.

Hello Emily. Welcome from Ga. Keep dreaming and it will come true some day. I did. I've got milk goats and chickens running all over the place. 2 cows. Lots of cats and 3 dogs. And now grandkids all over, too. Lots of fun here. Enjoy the forum.
