Posted - Nov 01 2009 : 1:41:11 PM I've been subscribing to MJF for almost 6 months now. I love it; it speaks to my heart. I live in Grand Rapids, MI and do a lot of my own gardening on a city plot, can as much food as possible, bake my own bread and am learning to knit. I am a full time high school English teacher who tries to balance a busy career and a "farmgirl" lifestyle.
I welcome any online or in the GR area friendships with like minded women. I feel alone and kind of odd at times, and having some sisters to chat with would be nice. |

Posted - Nov 03 2009 : 08:57:01 AM Welcome, Shelley! I spent my first thanksgiving away from home (while at school at Interlochen Arts Academy) with my roomate and her family in Grand Rapids. Neat old town! I still have the dress I bought at some antique store there (a "vintage" 70's era Gunne Sax :)).
This is a wonderful site where you can connect with women (and hopefully kindred spirits) from all over. So glad you're here!

Posted - Nov 01 2009 : 2:57:59 PM Hi Shelley and welcome! I'm not from Grand Rapids but I've been there often. I have an aunt and uncle who live there. I'm learning how to knit as well but right now I can't decide what I like better; knitting or crocheting... |
