Hello all!

I'm Ellen and I live in the Upstate of South Carolina...a transplant from Miami, Florida. I've always loved to garden and to make things by hand and try to live organically and simply. Mary Janes Farm reminds me of Mother Earth News for all of us ladies of like mind :)

Right now I have a cat, a yellow lab, and a horse. I'm just starting to teach myself to knit and may start quilting and/or sewing again. Can't wait for spring to be outside once again. Look forward to the new 'farmgirl' adventure. Oh yes no farm for me yet.. a half acre, but would love room for my horse to be near.

I have three grown children and a wonderful granddaughter that hangs out with me every day. I was a pioneer with home births and home schooling back in the day! and let my children pretty much choose what they wanted to wear to let them have that freedom. They laugh now at the photos from that time. Sorry, kids!

I love photography too and would like to start a blog I think...

Ciao for now. (I'm part Italian and love all things Italian .. and oh yes, Cuban, from growing up in Miami!)

Hello from NE Ohio. I hope you've been surfing around on here and feel comfortable by now. Isn't this the greatest site? I've learned so much and everyone's so friendly and helpful. Enjoy!

Welcome from upstate fingerlakes region of NY. I like many of the things you mentioned, though I crochet more than I knit.
