Hi Y' All! I'm a newbie to MJF. I'm sure my story isn't unique by the number of folks responding to all that MJ has encouraged us to try, do and continue doing in the name of "the good life"! A friend gave an issue of the mag to me last year thinking I might be interested in it, and honestly, I didn't give it much time....just paged through and noticed a few neat craft ideas...The "organic" part didn't appeal to me at the time. I don't know when it really began to "click" for me. I think it was a few factors coming together: 3 older children not home much anymore, so more of the grocery budget to "play" with, (I was raised by a Mom who liked to experiment with "healthy" and international menues...) More time and energy available for animals and garden ventures, (we recently bought 11ac. in the country :), the many dietary recommendations (organic, etc) made to Mom after her cancer diagnosis and not leastly, the prospect of becoming a grandmother in the not too distant future (oldest son is getting married in June! :) I positively devour each info-packed magazine issue, beginning to apply some of them and am passing the word!
Looking forward to getting to know some of you! PS I only have internet access once weekly on average at the moment

Welcome from another FL farmgirl. You'll like the organic life-style. It just takes the mind set of getting used to. I changed over to organic in everything from food to cleaning supplies to sheets and clothes. I'm never going back.

Welcome Lisa(LavenderFerret).Where did you come up with that cute name? I'm so glad you had a change of heart, awakening, or whatever you want to call it and made a turn-a-round for the positive in health issues. I'm so sorry for your mothers' health problems. How is she doing? You're going to love all the warmth and knowledge of these gals on here. Someone has an answer for every problem or can get it for you. You'll never feel alone or lonely here. Welcome sister!
