Hi, my name is Jamie Rose and I am from Crystal Lake, Il. Crystal Lake is about 1-1/2 hours (by car or train) from Chicago. I live on the top floor of a 1920's bungalow. My only garden is on my balcony and a small area on the side of the house. We have huge trees everywhere and most areas receive little sunshine throughout the day.

I love gardening, organic food, cooking from scratch and all things homey and domestic. If I could have chickens, I would. I work from home doing clothing alterations, custom sewing and I also make custom purses.

I married a wonderful man on Valentines Day. I have three children and he has two, and they all live with us. Four of them are teenagers. Prayers are accepted! We long to find a home with a nice backyard for gardening. My husband makes homemade salsa, so we need a lot of room for tomatoes.

Well, that's the basics about me. I look forward to meeting everyone and chatting and swapping!

Thanks Lilly! Some people appreciate the talent, thankfully. I look forward to the day where my only sewing is for fun!

Welcome Jamie from Virgina. Many years ago I always took in sewing in between jobs and with jobs when I needed money. It can pay off but people are not like they use to be. Now they want you to do the job and they want to tell you how to do it and what you should charge and most of them cannot thread a machine much less sew with one. The best to you and the teenagers been there also. Now we are retired and I sew just for me and fun. Talk to you soon. Lilly

Welcome Jamie. I'm lucky to have a "handy-hubby" too. He makes pepper-butter each year. It's so yummy on sammiches and he makes it mild or slightly hot. WOW! Sounds like you have a housefull. Congrats on the marriage. Prayers will be sent up in your behalf. You'll fit right in here. Welcome Sista!

A big Wisconsin hay dare to ya Jamie! Crystal Lake is a beautiful area. I am not too far from you, just north of the IL/WI border. We are in the process of trying to change our chicken ordinance right now, maybe I will be able to have chickens soon. You should look into it in your area. We are so glad you joined us.

Welcome Jamie, from Missouri! Sounds like you have your hands full. Enjoy, they grow up fast. If I get my tomatoes, I'm HAPPY! Did pretty well last year. Will try again this year. Have fun, there is a great group of girls here. And lots of info. So if you have a question, just ask, someone will have an answer for you or where you could maybe find it. Just jump in and you'll be back everyday.

Blessings, Brenda

Thanks to everyone for saying "Hello". I do have an Etsy site, but have not worked it for a while because I have an old, old computer and dial-up. Currently, Etsy won't download for me. The only reason I am able to be here is cause it works on my computer!
I may have a few purses still listed and a few supplies. I will get some more pictures and post them. Where do people post them?
I am not the most up-to-date on how to do everything on the internet.

Hi Jamie!
Welcome. As you can tell, we farm girls like to support each other and we love purses and bags of all kinds.
There are threads on the forum just perfect for you to let everyone see what you create. We'd love to see them and hear more from you.

Wow - 4 teens..!!??!!.. I have only have 2 teens, and that's challenging enough without being blended and living in a smallish home w/no yard!
Prayers for blessings are heading your way!
