I found your magazine by mistake and just got my first issue.I love it! I was raised on a farm then moved to the city when I got out of school and on my own. I was a single mom and raised 2 sons on my own. About 5 years ago, I bought a horse. I had always wanted a paint horse. I found acreage to put her then thought, hmm.. I could give unwanted horses a home. That's when Giddyup Horse rescue was born. I have helped over 30 horses to date. I have 4 of mine that i will keep, but have rescued, rehabbed and adopted out others. Then I got chickens(bantams, barred rocks, silkies, and millie fluers), peacocks, a turkey, 7 cats(one is looking for a place to give birth as i type), 3 dogs, most recently a great pyrenees that was dumped out here, and 2 parrots. I love animals! In spring I always put in a big garden and this year I am thinking of having a farmers market at my place. I am thinking of starting a bee hive here as well. I love to cook and bake homemade items, I do cross stitch, needlepoint, decopauge.. i just started using a sewing machine. I was diagnosed with MS last year and I am dealing with that. I also sell on ebay and craigslist. I dont have many friends and would love to talk to other farmgirls. Farmlife is hard work, but worth the rewards!

Also sounds like just maybe you have connected with some like minds very close to you how grand. Sorry I am not closer but pick a site and we can chat back and fore almost daily. Hi From Connecticut!

I think what you are doing for all those animals is wonderful! We have a shelter dog (our third) and the rescued animals KNOW they have been rescued. Keep up the great work, you are a special person.
