Hi There...My Husband and I recently purchased our Dream...a small farm on about 12 acres(actually quite large to me)...But very small by Iowa standards, where my honey is from! It is a crazy story how we came to get this dream land, one I`ll tell soon. But spring is almost here in beautiful western washington and I need to get going...I`m feeling a bit overwhelmed already.Lets say Happily overwhelmed.See I also have 4 children and two of them are still babies,a two year old and an 8 month old.We just got 10 baby chicks and this will be my first round of Farm animals. We have a gazillion fruit trees and berry bushes...and more.I am also brand new to this site and excited to make connections. Im gonna need alot of help and advice!

God is Great!

Welcome to Washington. I live about 1 hour south on Hwy 9. I have a dear friend up in Deming. She is one of the Mama's at Mama's Garden, it is a CSA on the east side of hwy 9 near Acme. They have a sign out right now if you drive by that way.
When I come visiting maybe we can meet. She has 3 boys under 6.
Take good care.

Hi Melanie, welcome from Nevada! Last year was my first round of chicks and they were a blast! Watching them chase grasshoppers is some of the best entertainment you can get. :)

Melanie! Welcome. I know others will be doing the same. I have seen some of your comments on other topics, but I am happy that you have your dream land. I know you are a little north and west of highway 2...the North Cascade highway. It is beautiful in your area. I live in Deer Park, WA which is about 16 miles north of Spokane. We love Washington state and I hope you enjoy working on your farm.
