Posted - Apr 23 2010 : 10:26:22 PM Hi everyone,
My name is Eleanor Rose and I am writing to you from rural New Hampshire. I have been eagerly waiting to post to the site and introduce myself, but being a work at home mama, a charity organizer and an event planner for the Northeast Organic Farming Association I have been very busy this month. I finally have some downtime at 1am, to at last log in, look around and send a hardy greeting! I just started my organic garden, my very first as a matter of fact. And I am in serious need of some schooling, so any good advice is always welcome. We've got lettuce, cherry tomatoes, jalepenos and basil starting now, and I am excited to see the new buds just in. My daughter is 2 years old, she is a big help sifting dirt in her little hands in the garden, she loves flowers, bees and birds and trees. I'm really looking forward to talking to anyone and everyone, I just love the sense of community I feel reading Mary Jane's Magazine and I have been promoting it to all my farmer friends, male and female alike! Some of my passions are organic food and knowing where our food comes from, making the connection between farm and plate and the localvore movement. Vintage clothing and antiques. Natural and Herbal medicine making and wisdom. Raw, Vegan and Vegetarian Cuisine. Natural Parenting. Sustainability and Permaculture. Local Music and playing in bands. Charity work and raising awareness regarding terminal illnesses and building community.

Posted - Apr 28 2010 : 09:23:45 AM I don't know if I am doing it all successfully, LOL, but going with the flow is half the battle. I still have so much to learn and so much room to grow! I won't ever consider myself an expert, but I do know a few things :) Glad to be here, always!

Posted - Apr 24 2010 : 8:23:43 PM Welcome Farmgirl:
A big "Hello" from SD. I have been out if the loop for this month, but anxious to get back. There are some talented ladies in this circle of friends. I am envy of you being able to plant. We will not be able to plant until the end of May. We have started our seeds inside, but we do not dare plant anthing outside, ground is not warm enough. Our tulips are up and pansies, which is nice to see. Our baby chicks are doing great. The grass is green and it is beautiful in the Black Hills.
Enough for now - enjoy the new friendship you will get from all the ladies.
