I don't know why it took me so long to discover MJF. My daughter saw the magazine in the check out of our co-op and asked to get it, she (like mommy) is a sucker for pretty covers!

Well she squirreled herself away with it, refusing to share but i kept hearing her call down the stairs "Mom mom there's chickens", "Mom mom there's buttons" "OHH Mommy there is gluten free RECIPES!" but the kicker was a high pitched shriek "OHH OHH MOMMY THERE IS MERIT BADGES!!!"

Well i got a hold of it when she went to sleep and loved just as much as she did.

The gf recipe conversions were great having an entire celiac family of six.

We are apartment dwellers in central Oregon right where rural farms meets the suburbs and like to surprise the neighbors with how much food we can grow on a 4 by 4 foot slab concrete porch

I (and my daughter) are looking forward to perusing the forums, and checking out the "OHH OHH" merit badges.

Welcome:

We all come from different part of the USA. It is the Farmgirl spirit that counts. We live on 10 acres across a buffalo ranch across the road. So I look out my front window and I am able to enjoy the view of the buffalo grazing. It is a pleasant site. We raise chickens for our eggs. I have 5 pet sheep and 3 miniture ponies that were given to me. We are getting ready to put in our garden but it will be a few weeks,

Would you be leave we got snow today - 3 inches. Oh living in SD. Love it.

Welcome and enjoy the friendship.

Welcome. Your daughter sounds like mine! I have to share my magazines with her. There is a youth division for her to join after you have signed up! My little one is enjoying following along with mommy on all this stuff.

Hi Maggie and welcome to the forum. You will have fun here and sounds like your daughter will too. There are pen pals for her to check out in the Parenting thread. And the Young Cultivators also. Just look around. You'll find things that are very interesting to you both.
