Welcome - and "Happy Gardening" We have had rain and snow the last several days. So our gardening is on "Hold". Our tulips are just beautiful. The deer have not eaten them up this spring. I am hoping they will not come around so we can enjoy them.

Enjoy all the new friendships and getting to know all the talented farmgirls.

Hi Lily, thanks for the nice welcome!

The garden is a lot of fun, and the perennial garden I put in this past fall is doing very well, too.

Here is a link to my gardening photos.

http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=152569&id=575602778&l=54f5f0e0d7

I am growing tomatoes, cukes, carrots, radishes, lots of lettuce, spinach, eggplant, peppers and squash. Herbs are basil, sage, rosemary, thyme and oregano. Most of those are in the perennial bed, since they are so hardy.

I am using Square Foot Gardening, and since it's just me here, I am only planting a few of each thing, to see what I really like and what I'll use the most.

I've been harvesting a lot of lettuce, which has been very nice!

Have a great day!

Sang.

Greeting and Welcome Sang from SW Florida!! Chesterfield, Va you say? I've never been there but what I've seen of Virginia that is an incredibly beautiful state!! How exciting that you started your own garden for the first time this year, excellent.... what do you have planted in your garden? Fresh herbs/vegetables straight out of your very own garden is the best.... you'll enjoy it for many years to come. Welcome to FarmGirl Sisterhood.
