I am SO EXCITED to find all this. My name is Jessica. I'm 29 and live in Dallas, Tx. My Gramma lives in Bellingham, Washington, and called me up about this magazine she found that she knew was right up my alley, and told me she would send me a subscription...lo and behold it was Mary Jane's Farm! I love everything about it! I can't believe I have never seen it before, but hey...this is Dallas...we are getting there, but not ready yet.

Anyway, I have 3 kids, 1.5, 5, and 8 and live with my boyfriend of 3 years and our cocker spaniel. I had a few backyard chickens but then I thought it would be a great idea to go to the pound and get a german shepherd, and now I have no more chickens.

So my dream is to have a farm, and right now we are renters in this cute little neighborhood, but are moving to an apartment complex this weekend so we can save some money to buy our little piece of property, cause it's never gonna happen paying the rent that we do. So for now all I can do is live vicariously and learn all I can through my newfound farmgirl sisters!

I look forward to joining my local chapter, and "meeting" all the rest of you!

Hello Jessica! Me too.. I am new.. not new at being a farmgirl but new to this forum/chat thang. I am bullsbaby... married to "Bull" hahah... he's a really big strong man... we have 3 children and 4 grandchildren and this empty nest syndrome is not all that great! We have 4 horses, 15 chickens, 3 dogs ( a corgy, pitbull mix,& a retired Police dog) 9 cats , a snake named Jeff ( was my sons)and a turtle named Broadway I bought in New York City last year. We live way out in the country and love it and struggle with the desert life everyday. I LOVE MaryJanes Farm.. we try to be organic... and I am on the crafty side so I am always making something like shopping bags. I am excited to get to know other farmgirls from around the states. HI YA'LL!! HOLA!

Welcome! Yes dogs & chickens don't always mix! Our neighbors dog likes to come down & play tag with ours-only the chickens always lose! There are ways you can "farm" in your apartment also. Grow herbs on a window sill or tomatoes on a patio. Don't give up you will get there!
