Hi, I'm new and I'm from California! I live in California with my husband and my youngest kids.

We have 6 kids and 5 grandkids.

Our 3 younger kids are older kids but they are all full time students at our community college.

I've been a farm girl all my life as I was raised in the country. I lived in town for seven years around the time I was going to school, but made my way back out to the country.

We raised all our kids out here along with all sorts of critters on our small farm.

We've been an active 4-H family for close to 30 years and all 6 of our kids have had a 4-H career.

I cook from scratch, bake all the bread we eat. I taught myself how to can food and put up pickles and jams. Some years we have had a tremendous food garden, although we don't have one at this present time.

We are going to move closer into town and the drive back and forth is crazy.

I babysit my youngest grandson. And I'm committed to taking 1 class per semester for the rest of my life. At the local college.

As soon as I can figure it out I hope I can post my etsy link and blog link. Maybe I better read the fine print to make sure it's OK.

I'm proud to be a part of this community. Oh, and for sure one of my daughters, she's 22, wants to know more about MaryJane's Farm and would like to know if there are any groups in our area.

I'm looking forward to all of you!

~Violet~

Good Morning Sherone!

Thank you for your sweet comments!

I did see my latest shop hearter and noticed quite a few items had been hearted, but as I haven't been here to the farm for a couple of days, I had no idea that Anna Pearl's Attic was a farmgirl!

Thank you so much for dropping by and I'm glad to know that you liked so many pieces of our jewelry.

I showed your post to my hubby, he always loves the feedback. Of course, me and our girls are always oo-ing and awing over most all the pieces he creates!

I look forward to getting to know you!

Greetings Jill, Don't you just love the magazine? I found my first MJ at the grocery market, then they didn't have the next issue. That's OK, I have a subscription now.

Nice to meet you.

Hi Jonni! I'm glad to meet you.

What a gorgeous and beautiful name your little girl has! One of my girls has "May" as her middle name, Laurel May. The name goes well as a middle name for many first names.

Thank you for sharing the sweet story about naming your precious daughter.

So far,I've met at least one other Violet here on the boards also. I look forward to meeting up with you again!

Hi Violet!

Hope you see this :) I noted on the vegetarian thread that you posted about our "Violet" id's and I thought I'd introduce myself...my February Violet is my 16 month old daughter, Violet Mae. So named because it's my favorite flower and our whole hillside is full of them in the early Spring. How neat that you were named by family!! I love that, when we tell people Violet's name, they always "oooh" and "aaah" and say such lovely things.

Your life sounds ideal--we live in a little bedroom community south of Cincinnati, Ohio, in the Northern Kentucky area. We have 4 dogs, 2 cats, a pumpkin patch, raised beds for veggies (Kentucky soil in our area is rather unpleasant) and wild brambles about for jam making come this Sunday :)

Welcome to the forum!

Hi Katmom, thanks for taking a peek at my blog! I'm pretty new at blogging, but one of these days I'm going to have a "big girl blog"!!!

Isn't Bass Lake beautiful? My oldest daughter lives in Oakhurst and works at one of the camps up on Sky Ranch Road.

Fun to know about John Candy filming one of his movies up there.

Thanks for the welcome. I peeked back at your blog, looks like fun things...with sister's on the fly! And Scotties. ~Smile~

Hey Violet,
I was peeking at your blog and your Bass Lake pics.. I luv Bass Lake, have friends that live in the Oakhurst/Coarsegold area.... if I recall correctly, parts of the Late John Candy- one of his 'vacation' movies was filmed there at the little resort. I soooo miss that area...
Welcome to MJF forum and Farmgirl hugz

My sister and I and all our kids went to our family reunion in '99. It was in Napa. We also went to San Francisco and LA. We had a blast remembering all our good times there and seeing all the places we had lived. We went through Lake Tahoe and Placerville on the way to Napa. It was amazing!

Kris, it sounds like you had a wonderful time in California! It would be amazing if I could go to all those places in one trip!

I grew up in the hills up above the bay on a dairy ranch. Inland from San Francisco.

Kristin, I do know where Trona is! We went through Trona on our way to Death Valley. What I most remember about Trona were all the 4 wheel drive dealerships! They were everywhere!

Thank you for your sweet comment on my blog. Please come back anytime.

I'm looking forward to knowing you and the other girls that I've met here so far.
