Posted - Jul 08 2010 : 12:49:56 PM Hi everyone! My name is Angela Joy. I grew up on a farm where we raised chickens, cows, and boarded horses. My father was an avid gardener- I learned so much from him. I'm currently employed as a cake decorator/baker, have one son who just turned 21. My interests are crochet, knitting, needlework, spinning my own yarn( i just learned), and gardening. I would love to own a small farm someday. I'm truly looking forward to meeting people here! |

Posted - Jul 09 2010 : 05:45:16 AM Hi Brenda! I'd love to post pictures, not sure how yet. See if you can find a local decorator to take your Grand-daughter under her wing and start teaching her? It's so much fun, I'm sure she'll love it. I enjoy being able to do wedding cakes and such for friends. They're so costly to buy. I try to do it for cost,or free if I can get them to bake and decorate with me. Thanks for welcoming me! AngelaJoy |

Posted - Jul 09 2010 : 04:19:04 AM Welcome Angela Joy from your farmgirl sister in Missouri. I have a 11 yr. old grand-daughter that is showing interest in cake decorating and she says she'd like to be a pastry chef. She's not doing too bad for a start. Post some of your work, she'd love to see it. Glad to have you here with us. It's alot of fun meeting all the girls.
Hugs, Brenda

Posted - Jul 08 2010 : 2:27:33 PM Hi Amy Grace! I love decorating cakes -it's like getting paid for crafting. I've been decorating for about 11 yrs now. I've been doing cakes on the side as well, most recently a "tree stump" wedding cake to feed 150. I do love it here, so many like minded gals! Thank you! Angela Joy |

Posted - Jul 08 2010 : 2:03:14 PM Hi Angela Joy - so glad you have joined us!! I am the bakery/cheese manager for an organic and gourmet grocery store and I have nothing but admiration for those who decorate and bake cakes. We don't do any baking but work with small bakeries around the city - I love the attention to detail etc. Anyway, hope you love it here. Amy Grace
