My husband was the one who found Mary Janes magazine in the grocery store while looking for a copy of Mother Earth News for me. It is now my new favorite magazine We have a 16 acre organic hobby farm and vineyard that we are working very had to turn into a sustainable hobby farm. I'm a high school science teacher and horse enthusiast. Now to get my rather spoiled equines to do work of the work around the farm. Actually we are training our haflinger to drive and once he is going well we'll get our "big girls" going. We have chickens. I LOVE my chickens!! And I'm learning to spinning my own fiber to crochet and knit. Our farmhouse is old and we're in the process of remodeling as we can but the feeling here is so wonderful people love to come visit. I'm so delighted to find other "sisters" with a farmgirl heart.

And I whispered to the horse, trust no one in whose eyes you do not see yourself reflected as an equal.

Hi and welcome from another Deborah in Colorado. I am a Colorado native and fairly new on MJF, but all our sisters here are loving and supportive. I would love to learn to spin! Good luck with your farm!
Blessing,
Deborah

Welcome Deborah!
I'm just meeting everyone too. I have an interest in learning to spin my own yarn as well. I have an antique spinning wheel and have always thought it would be neat to crochet a project with my own homespun yarn. Need to find someone or group in my area to show me how. How has learning to spin been for you so far? relaxing or frustrating? I'm hoping you will say relaxing.

Life's circumstances constituted my moving from Colorado, otherwise I would probably still be there. Maybe someday I'll go back!! Davenport is a very nice area....no mountains, but beauty of a different kind! Welcome again and enjoy, Deborah!! Lin

Thanks Lin,

Our ski club does their skiing at Monarch. I've been in love with Colorado since I was a small child and finally got the chance to move here 10 years ago. One of my dearest friends in the world lives in Davenport Iowa. Looks lovely there...she sends me pictures. Thanks for the welcome note.
