I am a farmgirl at heart...my mother-in-law told me years ago that I was probably a Swedish farmgirl in another life! I am the third generation in our small house on the hill. We do not have much but we do what we can. We live in the city but on a dead-end street in the only wood that I think are left here. I was born camping and bred my children into it too. I can craft with the best of them: knitting, crochet, needlework, sewing, etc. My family were heavily involved in Scouts and my mom gave me the farming bug (she came from a small farm in the southern part of our state).

The way of cultivation is not easy.

Hi Monique! I'm new, too! Right now I live in PA, but I am a RI girl! My aunt and uncle owned a farm in Chepachet, and my grandfather's French Canadian family have long, deep roots - farming roots - in the Woonsocket/Central Falls area! I miss the Big Apple in Wrentham - have you ever been there? And friends of mine who come to visit keep me well stocked in coffee syrup! My friends here think I'm crazy for drinking iced coffee (but really, in the summer, is there any other way???) and the whole coffee cabinet thing baffles them (don't understand why we don't just call them shakes!). I've been here in PA for a loooooong, time (relocated for my husband, who is from here), but I would SO love to have a farmgirl friend from back home! Just wish I could turn on my RI accent for you - had to drop it here in PA just so people would understand me! LOL! Glad to "meet" you!!! - Nini
