Love the magazine and wanted to make some new friends who are like minded. About me: we live outside of DC on 6 acres as of June! This has been my dream. I've never been so dirty but loving every minute of it!

Tell me about you and we'll be fast friends!

Shar

A big Wisconsin hay dare to ya Sharon! We are so glad you joined us. Your county doesn't allow chickens? That's absurd. I have been working in my city to change the animal ordinance to allow 4 hens. The big city of Madison, WI allows them. Go look up MadCityChickens.org they go around the country helping people get ordinances changed. Also the ChickenWhisperer.com he knows all there is about chickens.

Hi Sharon, I have 13 acres of land in Maine, we purchased an old farm house and barn on route 11 a old Maine road that leads to Canada. We had hopes of moving this summer selling our house in Ma. but the sale did not happen so hoping for the sale and move again.

Love it! Sounds like everyone is living their own dream! I can't tell you how excited I am to get to know you all. Thanks for such a warm welcome. We live northwest of the manassas battlefield. Hubby goes into DC to work but loves to come home to our peaceful place. We are looking forward to a big garden next year. We want some chickens but our county doesn't allow them - might have to claim ignorance on that one soon! Hubby already has our camouflaged coupe picked out!

Oh happy day!

Hi Sharon from S.E. Wisconsin. I live in the Milwaukee area during the week but during the weekends my husband and I escape to Iola WI to our cabin on 16 acres of land with all hardwood trees. It is our little piece of heaven!

Welcome Sharon!!! You will love it here and find many like-minded ladies who will make your life all the richer with their wisdom and caring. It's a great place to be!
Where in N VA did you find 6 acres? You must be pretty far out of the city to find that treasure. My husband and I lived up there for about 5 years. We had a little townhouse in Dumfries (Woodbridge area) for a while and then we lived in Kingstown (Alexandria) most of the time. My husband was a worship pastor there but did construction on the side so we got to k ow a lot of the developing suburban area really well. You are so lucky to have land.
So what kinds of things do you have planned for your little piece of paradise?
