Hello Sisters!
In a moment of fate, I stumbled across a copy of Mary Jane's magazine 6 days ago. In a moment I knew I found a sisterhood of women living for themselves within the support of their own ideas of hard work, preservation of the land, sustaining family and history while reaping so much more from every breath of life we have.

We ladies are true pioneers.

My sweetheart and I live on a working cattle ranch in Montana. We have 206 pairs of cows/calves and about 8 bulls along with 6 horses, one cat (only one? yeah, it surprises us too!) and one very loyal and smart German Sheherd dog named Ginger. Everyday is unexpected, beautiful, labor intensive and rewarding. Living connected to the rhythms of the earth and animals is a gift.

In addition to ranching, I am a traveling Yoga Instructor. So, I am curious to get to know you! Anyone out there in the Western part of the US? Anyone on a working ranch? How about you Farm Girls? Tell me your stories...

Lifes not the breaths you take, but the moments that take your breath away.

Just a small town country girl, farmgirl, loggergirl, trying to live her dreams. :)

P.s. I've been playing around with the spelling of my name ( weird I know) and I've decided that I will stick with Hannah for good. Sorry I got you all confused. Hugs!!

Well Hey Amy! I'm a lot closer to you than I am to Hathaway or Rosebud! I'm in Kalispell, which makes us practically neighbors!!!

Closer to you here from Libby, MT. My MIL lives in Bozeman. But, of course w/ the farm, I don't get there too often. Hubby gets around more w/ his gun shows. Are you anywhere near the high line for a train stop?????

Wish I could stay home more to be a fulltime homestead wife/mom....SOMEDAY! Part time will have to do for now!

Hello Lisa Marie!!! I look forward to getting to know you! I live wayyy on the East coast in Stafford, VA. And I grow simply flowers.... one day I will have my 'victory garden' in my back yard... but we have to build a fence first. We live in a bustling neighborhood and dont live on more than a 1/4 acre. But do very much so enjoy it here.

My husband and I have been married for 4 years this past summer.... Life is good and busy that's for sure! HE has a total of five children... Ours is Zach: He will be four this Nov. Then there are my step children, Billy who is 12, Jake who is 21, Christina who is 25, and Missy who is 28. Missy and Christina both have one child each and Christina has another on the way! So, that means at times there are a lot of little feet sunning around this place. We love it. We all get along well and life is good.

Hi and a BIG Farmgal Welcome to you LisaMarie, from NE Ohio. I don't live on a farm, but I dream of it every day. DH and I make use of every inch of our "Town-Lot" with veggies, herbs, trees, berries, flowers, a cat, a hairless rat and a dwarf hamster. We have farms about 1/4 mile from us, so we get the Heavenly-Homie smells and can still walk to the grocery store...the best of both worlds I guess. This is a great website! Enjoy!

Alee,
That is amazing about the Farmgirl Chapter. I am in Billings quite a bit. I would love to support the Chapter in any way I can, and if membership is available to me, well, I am interested! I will be through Billings next week. Shall I contact you?

Our ranch is in Hathaway, smack in between Forsyth and Miles City. In the meantime, I will visit your blog. Here are my web homes:

If you ever come to Billings, you should let me know- there are several Farmgirl Sisters here in the Billings area and we have a Chapter that we are trying to get reactive. I am sure the other ladies would love to meet you!

Welcome Lisa Marie! I'm a bit of a drive, in Northeastern Nevada. We don't live on a working ranch, it's more of a small farm, 3.5 acres (most places around here are ranches, hubby has farming family in Weiser Idaho, so to tweak everyone's nose he calls our place a farm, hehehe).

We live in the middle of rural ranching country, and love to get together for the brandings and such. We will be building our little herd this spring. Right now we have one steer (RibEye) and one heifer (Daisy Mae), you can read how we brought them home on my blog. Our almost 9 year old hopes to show Daisy Mae in 4-H next year.We also have 5 horses, 2 turkeys, 20 something chickens, 4 dogs, and a trough full of koi and goldfish that will one day get a pond. Amazingly enough, No cats! Makes me miss my manx, Neko.

I love Pilates and have done a bit of Yoga. I should start again. Now that all 3 boys are in school I might be able to fit it in , somewhere around riding horses and crocheting.

You'll love the great FarmGirls around here!
