Hello everyone,
New farmgirl here. I grew up on ranches and farms. Been married to my high school sweet heart for 31 years. We have 2 grown boys. Fixin to have my first grand child. (A Boy saids the old doc!) I am very excited about it! We live in an old orange grove. It's been in his family since 1940. Love my life here. We run our own business from our home here. Loved going to my grandmothers farm when I was a child. Spent lots of summers there. She taught me how to do everything from gardening, sewing, canning, cooking, plucking chickens, barning tobacca, ect. any thing to do with farming. Hope to make lots of friends here.

Thanks Diane for the big hay dare. Love all the friendly farm girls here. I will surely be needing their help because I'm fixing to get into the cow business a little. The old orange grove is dying out. So the county saids we will have to put cows on it to keep our green belt.
Or either replant the grove. So for right now we have a friend who helped fence it in and he threw some of his cows on it for the time being to keep our property taxes from going up.Our county is bullying the land owners right now. I guess to try and generate some income in this economy.

Hi Ruth, I will keep you posted on the tractor. I think I will start sanding on it this weekend.
Then tape it next weekend. Then paint it the weekend after that. So I have 3 weekends to think some more on it. Hum, Hum, Hum....Although I'm doing the baby shower Oct. 2nd. Well anyways I've got plenty of time.

Dorinda, I am sorry to hear about your Dad. I lost my Dad 5 years ago, and have so many great memories. What a legacy your Dad left! You can still listen to the music he wrote. I enjoyed listening to his song yesterday, brought back memories.
Now about that tractor, are you the adventerous type? If so you could do something fun and different, or you could stick with the red, decisions, decisions. Keep us posted, please.
Hugs, Ruth

Hi Rebecca, From Wyoming! We bought some investment property one time in Wyoming. I never got to see it but my husband did. He flew out there to take a look at it. The proprety was some where between Cody and Yellowstone. That was about 15 to 20 years ago. We have sold it since . But now I wish I would of went with him so I could say I have been to Wyoming. He said it was a beautiful place to visit.

Okay, Thanks Kris. I am trying to learn how this all works. I am not very good with this computer stuff.(My husband saids we are computer illiterate). Too old fashion and set in our ways I guess. But I am trying really hard to learn. For my birthday back in June my husband bought me my own tractor and rototiller for my gardening. It is an older Massey Fergusen needs to be painted. Do you think I should just repaint it red or spruce it up with a different color?
Anyone have a suggestion on it I would appreciate it. Having a hard time making up my mind.

Thanks Ruth for listening to my Dad's song. I miss him. He left us 13
years ago to become an angel in heaven. He had wonderful gardens also. I have a Question. What are the stars for to the left under our names?

Hi everyone thanks for the warm welcome. Been up early making a birthday cake for my oldest son. Red devil's food cake, his favorite.
Also worked a little on a baby quilt. Been working on my fall garden.
I wonder if I have waited to long to plant Tomatoes. Judy, my Dad was a song writer and recording publisher. He traveled alot when we were growing up. Anyways my name came from a girl who came into the recording studio to record a record one day. My mom said her name was Dorinda Duncan. They liked the name so that is where my middle name came from. My first name is Dorothy after my mom but everyone has always called me by my middle name. My dad wrote and produced the song I'm A Girl Watcher. I think it was a hit back in 1959. Well I hope everyone has a wonderful day.

Hi Dorinda *waving* and welcome to the Farm. I love your name. Glad to have you! I learned a lot from my Great-Granny too. She lived right next door to us when I was growing up. She was a great teacher.
