Hi, I am so excited to be here! I signed up a few years ago and haven't been able to be apart of things until now.

I live in an older city in southern California--but unfortunately I can't have even chickens here. Last year, with my sweet husband's help, my little girl and I turned our back yard into a garden, and have been planting edibles all over our spot of land ever since.

Although my "farming" is limited I love domestic arts: quilting, canning, cooking, sewing, being green, and making things. Ever since high school I have collected books and dreamed of homesteading.

I love to hear peoples' stories. I like folk art, poetry, love to read theology,-- and am struggling to learn the fiddle.

I am thrilled to hear so much wisdom here, and will be living vicariously through all of you real farmers!

Happy to be a "Raggedy Ann" in a Barbie World!

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

Thank you Cindy Lou and Kim for Welcoming me! It is funny, I lived in Minnesota, (Woodbury) K-8, so it is fun to hear from Cindy Lou--I still get back to MN every few years--I love it! My family from the 19thC is from Mantorville, Montevideo, and Red Wing.
And Upland, where Kim lived, is just up the road -- I live on Euclid in one of the old craftsman houses--I bet you've passed my house!

Welcome! I used to live in Upland and just returned from your neck of the woods since I still have family in Southern CA. Have fun with your garden. What a blessing to be able to grow things almost year round. Hope you enjoy it here as much as I do.

Welcome Kim, from Minnesota. Being a farmgirl is a state of mind and it sounds like you are really one of us. Sharing your gardening and other skills with your daughter is such an exciting way of sharing with her your skills and dreams.
You have found a ready-made group of sisters with so much to share. It takes a while to get aquainted with all the parts of this site. Enjoy!
We're very glad to have you here.
Susan
