Hi to all! My husband brought home a MaryJanes Farm magazine one day from a trip. I had heard of it from a friend and so enjoyed each page. But when I read that I could earn badges, my heart went pitter-pat! I've done the girlscout thing and am still going through the boyscout thing with my youngest muffin, but to get to earn my own badges!? And doing things I love to do? I signed up that very day. Although I am in the middle of crowded southern california, I have some chickens, a small garden, I bake, cook, quilt, work from home and home school my 8th grader. The 2 other children are grown. I would love to join a henhouse, but see none in my area of Garden Grove, Fountain Valley or Huntington Beach. Really? Any sisters out here in central OC? Have started gratitute badge, quilting badge, family game night (Cant think of that badge right now.) Am going to frame the pic with my number on it. Sounds corney, but seeing it gives me a lift and reminds to to stay on track and not let the busyness of life distact me from other, quieter and equally important things.
Look forward to it all.

Hey Bakermom, Welcome! I'm new too. I'm excited and starting the gratitude and quilt badge right off the bat too! I love your idea of framing your number! In my busy day it gives me joy to think I have this secret life of working toward accomplishment of things I value :) I homeschool my 7th grader.
Hugs from up the road just over the San Bernardino County line,
Kim
