Posted - Jan 11 2005 : 7:11:58 PM Hello all!
Well, I guess it took a super duper cold Minnesota day to get me to finally chill out (sorry) long enough to sit down and officially join this Farmgirl Connection. We're looking at a high of -8 on Friday...yes, I said HIGH...so watch out!
I found MaryJanesFarm magazine just when I needed it way back when and dove in to all of the wonderful things it has to offer. I love the foods (I just recreated my own fresh version of Peasant Tomato Soup last night!), adore the people and am totally energized by the ideas and articles.
This urban farmgirl is spending the winter knitting away (I'm almost done with my first sweater!), and dreaming of the garden. Just having moved into a new home in Minneapolis with a big backyard, I'm not quite sure what to expect. I'm worried about the few perennials I know about since we've had next to no snow so far this year...but I'll keep my fingers crossed. Can't wait to get dirt under my fingernails again.
That's all for now, thanks for reading and thanks for posting the exciting, funny and sweet messages on this Farmgirl Connection. I'll try to log on more often now that it's frigid!

Posted - Jan 14 2005 : 7:13:21 PM Welcome Catherine! I hope you can share some gardening tips this summer. I am zone 3, a little north of you. We've entered a deep freeze, it's -22F right now. At least it's clear. I see you have a cat named Lucy, that is my dog's name! |
