Hi ladies, this is so exciting as I have always been a huge fan of MaryJanesFarm. This past summer my family went to Kellog Idaho and we were able to stop in at her store. I had been wanting to buy the flour and was so happy to have found it at the store. I was all set to make "the mother bread" was delish and is another post in itself!!! lovely sums it up :
I am a stay at home mom. I have an in home daycare/preschool in my home. I also own a Scentsy business. I love my job and cant even imagine doing anything else. We plan, plant and work the soil in my garden almost daily. The kids help me weed and harvest and then fall clean up. The endless ways they can create in that space is never short of amazing. We have a fairy garden as well as what I like to say is the best honeysuckle fort in all of the tricities :) I am a farmgirl at heart and my dream is to have a farm someday. But I have to say that spending 11 hours a day everyday with these little people I have in my life leaves me craving for some time with grown ups (women).
This past weekend I took a basket making class and we got to talking about MJF and the farmgirl connection. Our conversation was just what I had been needing and I realized that it was time to connect with women who have my same interests and passions. So here I am and so happy to be here. I looked for a chapter to join here local and found that the one we have was closed so I have decided to open a new chapter. I can hardly wait to get started. If anyone can direct me to a good place to start with this new adventure I would very much so appreciate any and all advice or help. Also where do I go to get signed up for the cornament exchange??

puddle jumping with both feet is a must!!!! its a good idea to wear garden/rain boots and have a nice fuzzy towel next to your entry door for when you are done:) it indeed does bring a skip in your step for the rest of your day. i dare you to give it a whirl and oregon grows the best mud puddles ever so you have the makings for a good time!! lol i can just picture it

I indeed count it a real blessing to be able to have this house on this property.
Today in Roseburg it's pretty doggone foggy but I can see the sun working to burn it off. We've had some periods of rain here this week but we don't seem to get the extreme weather that Eugene and Medford have, the Umpqua valley is in that "banana belt" portion of southern Oregon.
My husband has an aunt and uncle who live in Pasco but we haven't been there for a long time. We attended the hydroplane races there once. I love the Columbia Gorge area; my two adult daughters and I started having an annual girls getaway weekend two summers ago and our first one was at a sweet Victorian B&B in Mosier, last summer we met in Astoria and although we had a great time we've already decided that we'll meet in Mosier again this summer. The oldest lives in Seattle the younger one is in Bend so I try to pick a spot where no one has to drive too horribly far. I love to drive so I'd go just about anywhere. So many beautiful places in this land and not enought time to see them all.
Puddle jumping; what FUN, I LOVE it and now I'm going to have to do some of that this winter, maybe even miss and jump right in with both feet for old times sake! Thanks for the idea, Stacey. I still build at least one snowman whenever we get snow, which isn't very often, but puddle jumping; now that's something else to keep me young. ;-p

Oh wow, that's so cool to have your dream home on the same property as your childhood home!! My gramps lived in Roseburg :) How's the weather down there right now??Lots of rain I bet. I talked to my B.F last week and she lives in Eugene, all I could hear was the pounding of rain. Made me homesick. We don't get much rain up here. I love the days when it rains, and have taught my daughter the art of puddle jumping. Have a wonderful day. Stacey

Hi Stacey, I grew up in Coos Bay. Back then it was the worlds largest lumber shipping port with Weyerhaeuser, Coos Head and Menasha. I haven't been back in over 30 years. All of my family moved away shortly after I moved here to Washington in 1977.

Hi, Stacey and welcome. I grew up on the same property we live on today. My DH and I just finished building our dream house but we can look down the hill at the house I grew up in.
I love the beach too and am glad it's only an hours drive from here.

I grew up on the Oregon Coast as well, I now live in the desert. It was quite a switch for me, but I have been here a little over ten years and it has grown on me. We live a hop skip and jump away from the Columbia river. I do miss the coast dearly though. My folks still live there so I do get to go home and visit. Where abouts did you grow up if you don't mind my asking :)??

Hi Stacey!
I grew up on the Oregon Coast and have always loved it. Now I live in Washington near the Puget Sound. It's great being part of the Farmgirl Sisterhood! Hope you have as much fun here as I have so far!
