I am just starting on this adventure :).

I found MJF a few weeks ago while reading an article on an herbal site. Clicked the link, and was gone for 3 hours! I love everything Mary Jane does, and LOVE the sisterhood. Genius!

I am wishing for a ranch :). Ranch, ranch, ranch! I want to raise goats, and have just enough land to grow some food for us, have space to my son can have chickens, and running space for my dog (well, it will be dogs if we have more space).

Right now I live in suburbia. I have a backyard "eclectic" garden (that's what we like to call it. It is wild, chaotic, and always has some surprises in store for us!), and it grows a bit every year. This coming spring, I plan on taking out the front lawn and planting food. Since we have heavy clay, I learn something new every year, lol!!

I am all about herbs, organic food, raw milk, fermenting things, making my own cider (still experimenting with that), vinegars, etc, etc. Love making bread....

I started a chapter, Roots, Boots, & Beauty, and look forward to gathering with other FarmGirls!

Greetings,
Heike

Katie! I love the blog :).

I am up the coast on your side of the land once or twice a year :). We travel in an old camper van, so we have our bed. I would love to come visit, maybe help out?

Just a small town country girl, farmgirl, loggergirl, trying to live her dreams. :)

P.s. I've been playing around with the spelling of my name ( weird I know) and I've decided that I will stick with Hannah for good. Sorry I got you all confused. Hugs!!

Happy to be a "Raggedy Ann" in a Barbie World!

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

LOVE the furniture in your pictures, especially the Celestial table :).

And...I am borrowing your E. B. White quote, it just fits me to a tee...

OMG...love your blog post with the ornament, and the "guy campfire"...LOL! I see we have a few things in common :).

Thank you for the welcome. That is what attracted me to FarmGirls (I usually avoid groupy things :)..for many reasons!).

Happy Thanksgiving to you too!

Welcome Heike,,,
being 'chaotic & eclectic' is a Good Thing,,,after all it's fun to march to a different Drummer, to be adventerous & inqusitive.....that's part of the farm girl spirit., to not be afraid.
You will luv the gals here & learn so much from them as I have.
Welcome & Happy Thanksgiving.

My daughter read this and said: "Mama, you sound a bit chaotic."

I am :).

But I have a wonderful friend co-sistering the chapter with me, and she is my balance :). She is very organized & efficient, a fabulous farmer, and owns an organic nursery. I am sure she will be here soon...
