Posted - Jan 05 2011 : 06:12:42 AM Just wanted to stop in to say hey!
I am back after about a years absence. As some of you may remember I was taking care of my mother, who has alzhiemer's desease. After many prayful hours I ,we( my husband and I)have put her into a nursing facility. She has been there for two months and is doing amazingly well. It is very close to my home and I visit her every other day.
Life has suddenly been renewed to me. I can once again enjoy some of the simple things that I had taken for granted in the past (never again). One of those things was visiting with all of you... my Farmgirl sisters. I have missed you all more than you will ever know.

Posted - Jan 06 2011 : 06:56:03 AM Welcome back Pam . . . those decisions are always so very difficult. Never had to make them in regards to my parents or father-in-law, but my MIL is in an assisted living facility. It is a good place for her but she complains about EVERYTHING!! But she can't live alone and has to have someone checking in on her. Hard stuff!!! Hang in there!! CJ

Posted - Jan 06 2011 : 06:44:07 AM Welcome back, Pamela. I know that's a very hard descision to make. But I'm sure she is in a great place and well cared for. My friend had to do the same thing with her father. It just tore her up to do it but it was tearing her family apart with him there. He is near one of her brothers in Tn. so she's ok now. But it was hard for awhile. Sometimes you just have to do things to keep yourself healthy.

Posted - Jan 06 2011 : 06:23:41 AM Thanks Alee. I really missed being on here. I missed all of you, all of the time...I can't begin to tell you how much. I have started writing a book! A children's book, that I dreamed up while taking care of my mom. I have always wanted to do this and I am keeping myself motivated to finish it. That and along with reading the Bible from beginning to end and all of my sewing projects...well that's another story haha! Again I am really glad to be back and huggz to all of you!

Posted - Jan 06 2011 : 05:07:11 AM What a hard decision to make - nursing home. Our family will have to deal with the same issue soon. My compassion goes out to you. |
