Hi everyone!

I only recently discovered MJF and I see that I have been missing out big time! I love the magazine and these forums are amazing. I can't even begin to digest some of the information that is here, there is so much. I'm still not quite sure how everything works around here, but it will come.

So, I live in northern California surrounded by neverending beauty. I live on my friends land (28 hilly acres). We have 5 dogs and 6 cats. I grow a garden every year, though the last couple of years have been somewhat small because there just isn't as much water anymore Last year I was finally able to grow eggplant! I have been trying for years but never was able to get fruit. This year I will try again and see if it was a fluke or not, lol. I like to make cards, cross-stitch, draw with quill and ink, knit (a beginning knitter for a few years now, lol), make bath and body products, garden, sing and play with all the critters. I also run a home based and internet business selling environmentally friendly products. It's fun and I believe in the products, so a win-win!

Hi Betty!

We have had sun, rain, sleet, hail, snow and more sun all in ONE DAY today! No rainbows though. I also like to knit and cross-stitch but I have yet learned to sew and am in search of someone to give me lessons. I also love Iris's but thank goodness they haven't popped up yet here. Years ago, there used to be this mango colored bunch of Iris's that had the most incredible smell but for some reason they stopped coming up. I haven't seen anything like them anywhere since.

Hi to everyone in Northern CA. I'm in the high desert in CA on the eastern side of the Sierra's. It's snowing on the mountain in front of my house but nothing here yet, and probably won't get any today either. We had lovely rainbows this morning but the wind is terrible today. I have chickens and I quilt, knit, crochet and do cross stitch. I also like to read and garden. I have a dutch iris in bloom which is too early but it sure is pretty. I grow a lot of bearded iris and roses.

I'm in Northern California too and have been a Farmgirl Sister since early January. It's been wonderful! I think you'll find all sorts of fun and friendship here! I've had fun participating in several swaps, started a few new topics, and have been active in our "FARMGIRL Philanthropy" forum.

I'm an active crocheter, knitter and loom knitter who's been designing and creating my own Fashion Flair chemo caps for cancer patients during their chemotherapy.

We sure have gotten more rain this past fall-winter. Can't wait til things start warming up and seeing the buds on the trees and planting time!

Happy Valentine's Day with joy and love and peace from your Farmgirl Sister in Northern California.

Thanks again for the welcome ladies. I really wanted to join a chapter near by but the closet one isn't doing anything and I'm just not ready to take the Chapter Leader challenge just yet.

Thank you for the warm welcome ladies! I really love this site and am finding it hard to stay away, lol. Inspired by the ladies here and the magazine, I went out to look at my sad garden and did a bit of weeding. I really need to come up with a garden plan and soon! Maybe I'll find someone here that has some heirloom tomato seeds they want to trade for some Persian Jewels or Ornamental Poppy seeds

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.
