Hello all. My name is Jackie. I love reading the magazine, which is how I found this site....yes a newbie. I think being a part of this site will be fun and I hope to forge new friendships. As a curiosity, I'm wondering if anyone out there knows of a small, vintage trailer close to Indiana that I can buy?

Greetings, Jackie from Iowa! LOL! I think you will enjoy this site, there are so many "farmgirls" to chat with, and the topics are amazing. Everyone is very friendly and encouraging here.

Megan, I will post some pictures of my little trailer when I get the chance. She's all tarped up right now to help prevent rain leakage. We need to do some "waterproofing" before I can really set in motion my creativity.

Welcome to MJF!!! I would venture a guess that there has to be whole websites/groups devoted to vintage trailers. Hope you find more info! I'm sure we'd love to see pics as well! I love to live vicariously through others' projects! ;)

Oh! And Grace, thank you for the info on the "start up" trailer companies. That makes a lot of sense. Most people I talk with have never heard of the type of trailer I have. I guess I have a rarity! LOL!

Thanks Grace! I just looked at your Victorian Rose site... WOW! Looks like sooooo much fun! Wish I were closer to where you are. BTW, today I was informed by my hubby that I had better consider him when I decorate the trailer. "No girlie stuff, and not all horses, either!" (I'm the horse person in this cabin!) LOL! So I've been gathering"other" ideas on colors to use, a theme or two, texture....etc. to compromise and "include" him. LOL! When I start in on this project, I'll post before/after pictures. This little trailer is going to get more "lovin" than it's had in a long, long time. Soon she'll be a "Happy Little Camper".

yep, MaryJane Lee in SO.CAl is a gal pal of mine & we have such fun w/our trailers...
Heather B., karen~kpaints here on the form and well, actually a lot of MJF gals here have trailers....
You can peek into my Gracies Victorian Rose blog to see some pics of mine as well as some friends,,,like
kpaints trailer.
I have lot's of pics from my trailer outtings but way to many to post on my blog.
So, once you get your lil trailer dolled up, be sure to post pics of it here.
Oh and during the late '50's & mid '60's there were a lot of "back yard' trailer manufactors, what I mean by that is there were a lot of 'start up' companies that made trailers for a year or two but could not compete with the bigger manufacters...and a lot of them went out of business but some got bought up by bigger companies.
But no matter the company, they are all soooo cute and a piece of our 'Mid Century Modern' culture.
Ok, Jackie....Wagons HO!

Greetings all! I didn't realize that there were so many "welcomes"- hadn't visited this post since I first joined! Anyhow, for all of you who commented on the trailers, my hubby and I just got our first "vintage" camper (our first camper ever...and probably not our last!..LOL). We got a 1965-13' "Joytime". I've never heard of a "Joytime" and have scoured the entire trailer looking for some info. The only info I can find is that a "Joytime" was manufactured in Rockford, OH. Hmmmmmm....
I grew up camping in my grandparents "magical Shasta". The thought of it brings back such good memories. I CAN"T WAIT to get started making this trailer into something, you know....adding my personal touches! I've been surfing on the web for fantasmical ideas. Has anyone visited the site for "The Beehive Cottage"? What an adorable vintage trailer!!!!!!
