Hello All,
Just a note from a new farmgirl in training in Great Falls, Montana! As a recently retired art teacher, I have enjoyed reading Mary Jane's Magazines and have used her products for some years now. I was drawn to her upbeat, positive, recyling personality!
I'm looking forward to swapping stories, gardening ideas, recipes, herbal remedies, favorite fishing and camping haunts with my new girlfriends. Signed up to meet the gals on the Wild West Tour to MJF when they stay overnight in Butte on July 1st. Hoping to find a Farmgirl chapter in Montana that isnt too far from home!

In my former life I was a river guide on the Missouri, Clark's Fork, Yellowstone and 5-7 day trips on the Smith River. Recently inherited the family cabin in the Little Belt mountains with my sister. It has electicity, but no running water - perfect!
Thank you for the opportunity to share!
Love,
Graycat

Hi Grayce,

Welcome! I'm new to Farmgirl Connection, and also a farmgirl wanna-be. I'm City Slicker, "advertised" as Many Hands Make Light Work for volunteer ranch-farm work in the area. Just moved to Helena last November, over Thanksgiving weekend and love it!

Have fun making memories at your family cabin.

Wow! Thanks gals for your nice welcome. It reminds me of way back when a new person would move to town and folks would stop by with kind words of wisdom to welcome them to town. Looking forward to new posts and getting started meetin' all the gals. I am especially interested in the "swap" forum. I love to go junkin' and searching for unique goofy items from the past. Ah heck, I'm interested in just about everything!

Jennifer- the wheatfields were so beautiful last year and with all the moisture, it looks to be a bumper crop! You were so lucky to grow up out of town. I grew up in Simms...tiny town, Ah, Lo Lo Hot Springs are one of my favorites. You had some winter weather yesturday and today, hope all is well!

Gracie -Thanks for your comments! I have read your posts for some time now before I had the guts to start bloggin'. I linked to your website months ago and really enjoyed looking at what you are up to! Very Impressive! It is sp nice to meet another Gracie....Cheers!

Karen - I love working with wood. It has such personality, eh? Would love to see what you do with your creative endeavors. This year might just be a June snowstorm year. Were you here in June 2001? A huge storm came thru and wreaked havoc!

fille de ferme - thank you for your response from beautiful PA. I have many friends who have migrated from PA to Montana. Quite a contingent. Actually, if it weren't for my riverguide friend Jan from PA, I would have never learned to cook! He is my food savior, with that east coast "gruff on the side".

I am not sure how to respond to each post individually, so I thought I would try this.
Thanks for all your comments- yipeeeeeeee!

Happy to be a "Raggedy Ann" in a Barbie World!

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

Hello Grayce!
I grew up on a wheat farm just outside of Great Falls, and now live in Lolo, Montana! I try to get on the forum occasionally, but between being a Mom of two toddlers and the daily activities I am pretty sporadic about getting 'online'. I'll try to watch for you in the forum! Glad to meet another fellow Montana sister!

Hi Grayce,

Welcome to the group! You sound so interesting...

I love Montana.
My mother and I once took a road trip through there. We made some marvelous memories. Some of our best.
Also from that trip, I still have a picture of my car with snow on it in June (a first for me at the time).

I'm a boatbuilder and furniture maker (turned writer/editor) and I appreciate all artistic endeavors.

I think you'll find a lot of kindred spirits here...

A warm hello,
Karen
