Hi, My name is Taffy, and I live in Southwest Florida. Specifically Lehigh Acres, which I affectionately call Jurassic Park. I have been in this area for 32 years. Florida is all I really know. I am 41. I have been married for 18 years. We have 1 girl and 2 boys, aged 19, 16 and 12. The older two are in college. We home school, and only the 12 year old is left. :) Our zoo used to include chickens... but.. by the 7th flock.. I gave up, the Bloodhound won. We have 2 Bloodhounds, Red and Rosie (thus my username.. Roses are Red.), 1 Mini-Schnauzer, Rumsey, and 8 gerbils and 2 rats. It is a bit furry in here. We bought our house in October. Now that the insanity of all the holidays is over, I am itching to get gardening! Now is the height of the gardening season here. Not much will survive past April. Our vegetable growing season is September through April. Anyway, I am looking forward to working on creating our own sustainability and urban "farm."
Glad to be here, Taffy |

Posted - Jan 24 2012 : 8:29:17 PM Hi Taffy! It's so odd to think of this being the height of gardening season anywhere. I'm jealous. We're under a lot of ice and snow. I'm new here as well and having a swell time. Glad to meet you and look forward to hearing about your garden! Susan

Posted - Jan 14 2012 : 10:46:50 PM Hi Taffy, Welcome and you are sure going to like it here. We lived in Lehigh for about a year, two moves later landed us up here in North Port, FL. Just up the road a ways, I still get to Lehigh on occasion. I missed gardening this season, we moved here in June not enough time to get everything done but plan for next season. Karla |
