Posted - Feb 21 2012 : 05:32:27 AM Poppiing in to say hello. Picked up Maryjanes Outpost book and fell in love. So glad theres other girls out there who are enjoying the farmgirl life as much as I am. I live in northern Michigan on forty acres that I rent. Starting out with a dozen chickens, 1 rooster, 1 goose, 6 peacocks, 1 dog, and 2 cats. All three of my children have flown the coop. I have one grandaughter who will follow in our sisterly footsteps, I am sure. I also have a grandson due in April. My amazing mother is teaching me to quilt. We have a great time. I am an avid gardener. Plans are in the making to participate as a vendor at our local farmers market this summer. Rustic furniture has captured my heart. I am lucky to live in an area that is heavily forrested. Never run out of material as I hone my skills. Thanks for letting me introduce myself. Looking forward to getting to know each of you.
Don't be sorry that it's over... Be glad that it happened. |

Posted - Feb 21 2012 : 08:48:32 AM Hi girls: I live in Staten Island, NY...I actually don't or never had a farm. I'm what you call a wanna be farmgirl (lol). My husband and I feel we are living in the wrong state, but our families live here and this is where we will die. But we take trips to Pennsylvania in Smoketown, or Intercourse (Lancanster) and just enjoy what that beautiful State has to offer. I congratulate all the hard work that goes into keeping a farm and I wish more people would appreciate what you all do. Keep farming so people like me can enjoy your fruits of labor. God Bless.
