Posted - Mar 19 2012 : 6:00:26 PM I recently discovered MaryJane's empire and have fallen in love! Thought I'd stop by and say hello
I was born and bred in NE Ohio... raised in a rural area on an old dairy farm, though all that was left when my family got the property was 3 acres, an awesome old barn, and several outbuildings. We never farmed in the traditional sense, but we had lots of gardens over the years, a DIY mentality, and a homespun lifestyle. As I got older I came to realize that both my mother and I were what you might call farmgirls at heart and wanted to get further out into the country. She recently bought 102 acres with some friends of hers in SE Ohio to raise miniature cattle, and I'll be moving to seven acres in central Ohio with my boyfriend this coming May, so I suppose both of our dreams are coming true!
Looking forward to being a part of this community! |

Posted - Apr 16 2012 : 5:02:52 PM Welcome Leah! I transplanted to Ohio 20 years ago. Now back to my stomping grounds in Illinois. We still have a home in Ohio and sometimes, my heart wants to go back. 20 years in Ohio is enough to confuse me now on where home really is. :)

A rind is a terrible thing to waste. Compost.
When they had all had enough to eat, he said to his disciples, “Gather the pieces that are left over. Let nothing be wasted.” -Jesus in John 6:12 NIV Bible |
