Greetings all! I live in the small village of Cobden in southern Illinois. Not on a farm but in a very rural area. We have lots of fun little shops here in Cobden and are a close knit community. I spend most of my time running my bead and fiber shop and an online store on Etsy. I love making jewelry and have been doing that since 2002. Since I'm going to be stocking yarn in my little shop, I am trying to learn more about knitting. I am particularly in love with bead weaving which is working with tiny seed beads. In the warm months I love my flower gardens. I have 2 cats and one dog and a wonderful husband.
I got the sweetest card in the mail from Winnie and it made my day. Looking forward to checking out all that's going on! Thank you for the warm welcome. Also, I would love to find a local group!

Hello! It's wonderful to see a fellow IL gal on here. I was born and raised in central IL, but have spend the past decade up in Chicago. Working downtown has made my yearn for life back home. Cobden sounds wonderful and I hope you enjoy learning more about knitting. I've been knitting for years and find it very relaxing once I get into the rhythm of the pattern.
It's nice meeting you!

And greetings to you LouAnn, welcome to the Sisterhood. I like making jewelry now and then and I will certainly check out your etsy shop. If you're into trading, there's lots of fun exchanges happening in the Farmgirl Swap forum and Mail Art too!

Welcome to the farm, Louann!! You will certainly fit in with all that goes on around here.

I love using seed beads for various items....well, it's a love/hate relationship... I love how they look but I hate poking my fingers with the needle while trying to pick them up.

Blessings!

HI Louann! So glad to have you here at the Farm!! There are lots of us here who love to work with fiber in one way or another. I am a beginner level knitter and there is something wonderful about watching beautiful wool make up into something you can wear. Post us some photos sometime of a project you are working on. We all love to share our latest endeavors here on the site.
