Posted - Nov 09 2015 : 10:17:06 PM Greetings all! I live in the small village of Cobden in southern Illinois. Not on a farm but in a very rural area. We have lots of fun little shops here in Cobden and are a close knit community. I spend most of my time running my bead and fiber shop and an online store on Etsy. I love making jewelry and have been doing that since 2002. Since I'm going to be stocking yarn in my little shop, I am trying to learn more about knitting. I am particularly in love with bead weaving which is working with tiny seed beads. In the warm months I love my flower gardens. I have 2 cats and one dog and a wonderful husband. I got the sweetest card in the mail from Winnie and it made my day. Looking forward to checking out all that's going on! Thank you for the warm welcome. Also, I would love to find a local group! |

Posted - Dec 28 2015 : 4:56:27 PM Hello! It's wonderful to see a fellow IL gal on here. I was born and raised in central IL, but have spend the past decade up in Chicago. Working downtown has made my yearn for life back home. Cobden sounds wonderful and I hope you enjoy learning more about knitting. I've been knitting for years and find it very relaxing once I get into the rhythm of the pattern. It's nice meeting you!

Posted - Nov 12 2015 : 05:32:24 AM Welcome to the farm, Louann!! You will certainly fit in with all that goes on around here.
I love using seed beads for various items....well, it's a love/hate relationship... I love how they look but I hate poking my fingers with the needle while trying to pick them up.
Blessings!

Posted - Nov 10 2015 : 05:18:19 AM HI Louann! So glad to have you here at the Farm!! There are lots of us here who love to work with fiber in one way or another. I am a beginner level knitter and there is something wonderful about watching beautiful wool make up into something you can wear. Post us some photos sometime of a project you are working on. We all love to share our latest endeavors here on the site.
