Hi Gang,
I just joined. We have a couple of acres in Colorado (a Ranchette) just south of the Wyoming Boarder. We reloacted from Southern California in August. We followed my boyfriends sisers out here. The entire family has moved her in the last year. Needless to say we love it. I was raised in Oregon and Washington. Much of my time was spent on my Aunts' ranch just above Battleground Washington. The experiences there were some of the best in my life. I stil love raw milk (found a place here to get it), organic foods (we did organic on my Aunts' farm we just didn't call it that), a CSA (in Washington we called it sharing with the neighbors) and a slower, more meaningful life. Not to say that I do not miss So Cal ther are days when I long for it, but over all it is great here. I am jhoping to start a small business here in the near future. I am still looking at possabilities around here. We have two dogs that just know that they are in Heaven with sll this room to run on and new criters to check out.

Life is a banquet and most poor suckers are starving to death.

Hi there! Glad to meet you. My family used to live in Colorado about 100 yrs. ago...have some neat old homesteading photos. I haven't been there much, but it has a special place in my heart. Hope you really enjoy it, and it sounds like you will.

Hi Nan! Welcome!! I'm always excited to learn about another Colorado Farmgirl. I live in a tiny farming community about 20 east of Pueblo and LOVE it! I too came from California (northern)and like you I really miss it, but it's not the same as when I lived there.I also lived near Portland for 5 years and went to Battleground a few times. It's so pretty there. I can't wait to get to know you better, so feel free to jump in on any topics, or start your own! Hugs, Lu

Welcome to the group! I'm sure you'll love it here. My husband's family live in southern CA. It's nice there, but I prefer grass, trees, and my four seasons! Your ranchette sounds great, good luck with it. Keep us posted on your new business too.
