Posted - Apr 16 2007 : 10:14:27 PM Hi! I'm so excited to be here! We live in the country, about 30 minutes East of Seattle. I am lucky to be married to the best guy in the world, and we have 4 blessings, and I get to stay home and homeschool them too. I absolutely adore being a homeschool wife and mom! We have 2 acres, a garden, a dog, chickens, and we are thinking about bringing home a few goats to our little nano-farm. (that's smaller than a micro farm!) Currently, we also have a skunk under our house, who seems to think we're a fine family to co habit with, but that's another story. We dream of building our own log cabin and moving up to mini farm status by gaining a few acres, some horses, and a BIG garden. I have just felt so moved by Mary Jane's and other's lives who promote a simple life of love and stewardship over what God has given us. Thank you Mary Jane! I am surprising my hubby with a visit to the wall tents in about a month for our 10th anniversary, so maybe I will get a chance to meet you and your fine group of folks there! I cannot wait for that weekend! Counting the days.... |

Posted - Apr 17 2007 : 10:29:00 AM Welcome Welcome Emme!!! I just love my goats! We just had the amish build us a get-away cabin a few months ago and we just got moved in a week ago. Still working on decorating. I have some pictures on my blog. To see some of them you may have to use the side bar. It's completely primitive, the kids don't like that part lol. But I can come home within a minute and be back in the real world, lol. So glad you found us here, you'll love it! ~~Blessings, Mikki

Posted - Apr 17 2007 : 10:28:07 AM Welcome Emme...good luck with the skunk...been there..ugh. I LOVE goats..they are so entertaining..and useful too! I have had several different breeds...Saanens were my favorite for sure. The only goat on our little place now is Pearl the angora goat. She is small, spoiled and silly, but my cow's best pal. I think you will really like it here.

I can't wait to hear more about your skunk under the house. Your nano farm sounds great, but your dreams for a bigger place sound wonderful too!
