Posted - Jan 08 2008 : 11:37:14 AM It's nearly 70 degrees here in Louisville today. But it's very windy and cloudy. Kind of eerie. I hate to write the 'T' word, but it's making me think of tornados. I saw on the news there were some in Missouri and Arkansas. In January. Yuck! As I walked my dogs yesterday morning, I noticed how many plants have not really gone dormant. Double Yuck! I don't want another ugly spring like last year. :(

Posted - Jan 11 2008 : 06:45:40 AM Hi, Earthmama! I'm envious of your bee keeping skills. I hope to be able to keep bees when we move to the farm(Irvington). Maybe you can give me advice when I get started! ;)

Posted - Jan 10 2008 : 11:23:14 AM It's 2pm here in Shelbyville, KY and we are having some super-loud storms and heavy rain. We'd be getting a lot of show if it wasn't 55 degrees out there. I love rain but I'm missing winter right now. We've only had a dusting of snow so far this season!

Posted - Jan 10 2008 : 05:52:12 AM We've had lots of wind here, too, Jonni. Thankfully, no tornado problems yet. It's going to be in the 50's today, but rain and storms later(rush hour, of course!). I don't think we've had anything more than a trace of snow all winter.

Posted - Jan 09 2008 : 4:49:20 PM This is just not normal.. Jim wants to move to North Dakota so we can have a true winter. In fact, at Xmas we break a chicken wishbone & make a wish for the new year. Well this year, the big part snapped off & fell on the floor, so we both got a wish(our rule I guess) & then he said, let's tell our wishes. I of course wished for continued health & happiness & he wished for a farm in ND!!! I can't disagree. The northern section is gorgeous!! |

Posted - Jan 09 2008 : 4:11:18 PM We had crazy weather here last night, Janice. There were tornado watches, and I stayed up well passed midnight just listening to things blowing around. When we awoke this am, our recycling was spread all over the yard!!!

Posted - Jan 08 2008 : 11:26:05 PM it was near 70 degrees all weekend here in tulsa as well, but we had a cold front push through last night, bringing some severe storms and a few tornado warnings with it. can't believe that it is january, just hope that this isn't a harbinger of a wicked spring
