Posted - Jan 19 2008 : 6:55:43 PM I just drove home from Potlatch, ID in a huge snow storm. The road was a complete white out and it took me about an hour to drive 20 miles. I am so glad to be home! I am exhausted and am going to go take a nice hot bath now!

Posted - Jan 20 2008 : 10:09:43 AM Have any of you read "The Children's Blizzard"? I often wonder what kind of storm today would compare with the one described in that book. If you haven't read it, it's about a terrible blizzard that happened in the Midwest in which several children, on their way home from school, perished. It's really sad, but a very good read. (true story).

Posted - Jan 20 2008 : 09:27:13 AM The good thing was that everyone on the highway was going nice and slow to be safe. There wasn't anyone out there going too fast and taking risks with everyone's life. I would much rather drive home going between 20-40 miles an hour and have it take an hour, than not arrive at all!
I was going to go to Spokane today, but I have since decided to stay home. It is still snowing out and we got about 6 inches of snow since last night.

Posted - Jan 20 2008 : 07:15:53 AM I know that you had to go, but I'm just glad that you are safe and home. We've been in white outs and they are always scary.

Posted - Jan 20 2008 : 02:04:12 AM LOL Kay! You are right. I knew there was going to be a snow storm- I just didn't think it was going to be that bad. It was good I went to the ranch though. They really needed the help because the farm manager is pregnant and hasn't been feeling well the last week or so.

Posted - Jan 19 2008 : 11:43:08 PM Alee - I am glad that you are safe and sound. Driving in those conditions can be so scary. Here comes the "mom" lecture -- you should watch the weather reports and if it says bad weather then stay home (wagging my finger at you). No more venturing out in snow storms, especially with the dangerously cold weather we're supposed to get in the next few days. I'm just so glad that you're safe!
