Posted - May 08 2008 : 07:53:12 AM I'm an Avon Lady too (part time). Sell mostly at work. I remember when I was small and the avon lady came to the house and my grandmother would order and then let me look at the book and pick out something. I thought I was really a big girl the day she got me "Heres My Heart" perfume. So long ago..... |

Posted - May 06 2008 : 07:49:17 AM I'll bet there are many Avon Lady stories. Please share them with me. (Thanks to those who already have) As a young married, I had an Avon Lady. She was an older, motherly women who I respected alot. Over the years, she served me well and we became lifelong friends. She is still selling Avon in her 70's. I just love her.

Posted - May 05 2008 : 6:56:33 PM I was an Avon Lady for about a month or two....it was my first attempt at direct sales (I also failed at Mary Kay and Longaberger. The ONLY thing I can successfully sell is my own folk art!) My favorite "Avon Lady" I ever had was Wade. He was the front desk supervisor at a hotel I worked for. He work baby powder-scented deodorant and was an awesome Avon ManLady!

Posted - May 05 2008 : 6:29:02 PM I remember the "Avon Lady" coming to our house when I was a little girl. I couldn't wait for her to open up her case and get out all the samples. The Fuller Brush man also came by once a month.

Posted - May 05 2008 : 2:42:58 PM I sold Avon for about 12 years in the late 80's on. It was great, I was able to put my baby and pre-schooler in a wagon and deliver books & orders. I lived in a new subdivision though & everyone was too house poor for me to sell much. Though I didn't earn hardly any $, I still enjoyed doing it. It would have been nice to have made $ though.
Have fun selling! Dawn in IL |

Posted - May 05 2008 : 12:09:11 PM I was an Avon lady in the late 70's. Pushed my 2 at the time girls in the stroller delivering product.
My aunt was an Avon lady for 30+ years.
Now one of my daughters sells Avon! She started with them after a charity sale program that another gal did. This benefited my immune compromised grandson. She too is having a blast! And I get some cool things also...
